Konica 1015 copier has been in storage for 10 years

My Konica 1015 copier has been in storage for 10 years in an unheated garage. It worked fine when I last used it. Now the copies come out solid gray with a faint image of the original, and the drum is loaded with black toner. I cleaned the exposed area of the drum, which yielded a first copy with a narrow area that was almost OK, but all subsequent copies were gray again.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Guido

You need a drum cleaning blade. These blades will go bad if left unused for that much time. This part cleans all that toner off of the drum in between copies. Cheap part at about $25.00 to $35.00
Just google konica 1015 drum cleaning blade and you will find one.

Copier has been in storage for a good year plus. Just took out & started up now getting "call for service L6-10" Anyone know how to fix this?

An L6-10 code refers to the Poly-motor. It is most likely bad However, if it has been sitting in a garage, basement or other unheated location, there's a slight chance that there could just be condensation on the mirror. How long did you wait before turning it on after taking it out of storage? My first recommendation would be to let it sit for an hour or so to let the mirror adjust to room temperature and let the condensation evaporate.
If you're still getting the error, its likely the copier needs a technician to work on it. If you know where the copier came from, you can call the company and ask. If you don't know, or bought it through a third party, (ebay, craigslist, ect) its possible the service company has left a sticker on the machine with their phone number.
if all else fails, check your phone book for an office supply or copier repair company.

Konica copier 1015 copies come out black what is the problem? please help trouble shoot this.

The exposure lamp (light source) that illuminates the original has failed. This may be fused in your machine but the fuse rarely blows without reason.
You should be able to verify this pretty easily by lifting the cover and doing a blank copy.

Konica 1015 copier with image ghosting problem

I hope the correct toner is in there.
It could be that the cleaning blade on the drum isn't working or the charge isn't working right.

Blur copys

The 1015 / 1120 were prone to the lens drive gear cracking, and not holding to the shaft.

Sometimes you will get a lens initializing error, sometimes you wont.

But this is most likely the problem.

My Emerson MW8115

Hopefully it was not an unheated storage area! Moisture and contamination can get into the controls from condensation due to big changes in air temperatures in areas like unheated storage units or garages. That being said, the most common causes of a failure to heat are in order: - bad door switches or door switch mounts - loose connection at the magnetron - problem with the control unit - bad magnetron or other high voltage part At our site, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosiss and replacement, and disassembly information.
