Color fading on Sony could be cable ?

The problem with your TV trinitron wega is at the color adjustment section. It is located at the color board mounted at the back of the picture tube. There are variable resistors that represents the color pattern in the picture tube. Adjust the red color to low level to lower the red color.

this sounds as if the tube (crt) as a intermittant short in the red gun , try tapping the neck of the tube very softly with a screw driver handle, this just might just clear the fault

Know to solders?Resolder ur video board socket holes that connected to( CRT tv Tube).Resolders the Yoke cable red, green,yellow connected to the main board also.Should get colors back,if the colors IC on the video in not dead,and capacitors help the IC on the video board.

my sont tv model no. KV-XF21M83 (21 in's) indicator lamp flashes red a number of times between 3 secounds interval
the color of the tv has gone faded. The channels name on the top right or left side is not seen properly
The EHT is sparking near the picture tube.

if it is a tube type unit you may not find a new tube they are almost extinct ,
also, most tube malfunctions are caused by improper voltage, only a qualified tech should work on the high voltage section of a tube tv,,, it can kill you even if it has Not Been Plugged in for a whole year

Its magnetic effect on picture tube. Power Off TV for 20-30 minutes then turn it On, hope problem will be resolved. Please also check and remove any speaker or some thing have magnet near by TV.
If color spots are still there, picture tube need to degaussed / demagnetized.

There are 3 components that control color, and it sounds like one of those are bad.
You will have to get it repaired.
I would talk to your local repair shop, and see what their estimate is, before deciding on repair or replacement.

in that tv you have surely the color circuit trouble - if you can you have to check  the red color circuit , first transistors then voltage or a capacitor not functioning ,

I recently got a similar TV with the same problem i thought my brother had taken something with a magent in it and sat it on top of his old TV when i got it it had the dis color up top right,
Well like most TVs you take a magnet, and it will change the color somewhat,
Well i tried it, tried to get the color as small as possible, carful not to get too close to the screen, i got it pretty close to being gone somewhat, and i turned the TV off, well i turned it back on, and guess what, the spot was completely gone, and never came back,

I suggest to try this ONLY if you have no other solutions to your problem,
im just stating what worked for me, and im not a tech,
