See that slide switch on the left side (as you hold the camera)? That selects near (image of flower) and far (image of mountains). Apparently, the flash only works when that switch is set to far (mountains).<br /><br />

How do i turn on the flash? vivitar vivicam 5022

Make sure you're not in the macro mode. There's a slide switch on the end of the camera, near the SD card slot. Set this switch to the mountain position.
Also bear in mind that the flash is for still photos only, not for videos.
