KVT-819 Kenwood, Region 1

Hi, i bought a Kvt-819 kenwood from the US, and i wanted to know if there is a way to make it read DVDs from any part of the world.

Well... I had the same problem...
I didn't find out how to modify the Kenwood headunit... but...
I'm using copies of my DVD's in the car... So just make copies
with your computer using DVD Decrypter : the software removes
the region code on the copied DVD so you can play it on any
player... including the KVT-819DVD !!!

Did you look online or do you have a owners manuel? There is usually a factory set password such as 1-2-3-4 etc, unless you purchased it second hand and the previous owner custom set - then you have to contact the previous owner or Kenwood. Most people dont change the factory passwords. TRY KCAR (5227 ON A KEYPAD) uf that doesnt work read the forum post on: ecoustic.com. Good Luck

Countries around the world have their own REGIONS. If your DVD unit is for the American market then it will only read and play discs that are REGION 1 or REGION FREE. Anything else it will not. REGION 1 : United States, U.S. territories REGION 2 : Europe, Middle East, Egypt, Japan, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Greenland REGION 3 : Southeast Asia, REGION 4 : Mexico, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Oceania REGION 5 : India, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia REGION 6 : People's Republic of China, Hong Kong
