I had an motorola L7 slvr which had problems connecting through USB, when connected seemed to be connected well with drivers, tried changing the mode to datafax and to memory card either ways it did not work. I had to take out the memory card put that in a reader and copy files.
Now I have a L9 issue is same issue In previous case I couldn't get the CD installed but in this case I got mine installed but comes up with I/O error or path not found.
1)I have tried Installing the drivers from the site both the case, Is there a way to use my mobile as I would plug it in and copy files?

Are you able to see the memory card as a removable disk on the computer? (i.e. does it come up as G:\ or anything when you plug the phone in?)
Try renaming the card, it may be that the name is too long for Windows.
You may experience some problems if you're using Windows 98.
If you're plugging your phone into the front USB ports, try plugging it into the rear ones - sometimes, the front ports are not powered (9-12v) and evidently will not charge the phone iether.
Also, ensure that you are plugging your phone into a USB 2.0 port - it may be that input/output errors occur because of data transfer rates.

Thanks for the solution but the site does not have drivers for L9.....
Its just the drivers but it is the problem with the interfacing between my computer->phone and the memory card every time I connect it comes up with a message of the new device installed, when connected and tying to copy it says "IO error"
1) Memory works well with the card reader but not with the card on the mobile phone.
2)Tried changing the options of data fax to memory but no use.
3)Even though the software for the mobile is the latest the window which allows me to copy songs says path not found.
