Problem seems to be the XBOX Hard Disk Drive (HDD). Run the game and play it once for about 30 mintues, then try again with the HDD inserted. It should now work.
The problem seems to be a conflict with the HDD or with the EA servers, as the XBOX Live account will try to connect to the now dead EA servers for this 2008 title.
If all else fails, you will need a portable memory card, not the HDD to play this game. It's okay if this is the case. Create an offline profile. The game no longer connects to the EA servers anyhow.
to play on EA servers you need to create an account with EA first. first of all. if you have an ea account then try to log off of it, then sign on again. if you don't then try to create an EA account first
ok today me and my friend was trying to find ways to fix this problem their are two ways to fix it and both these ways will have you playing mercs 2 online for sure ok: 1.create a account on www.ea.com and link a gamertag 2.this way seems to be the most effective for some odd reason just play an ea game online to accept the terms and conditions but either way will work because you just need to link a gamer tag to the website (trust me one of these will work i promise)you may need to do both i just made an ea account) if there are any problems message my gamer tag (Moregunpower16)
Hire buy borrow a copy of army of two and put that in accept ea's terms and conditions load the game up then quit and put mercs 2 in this will sort the mercs 2 freeze problem when connecting to ea servers. Having had and donethis myself i know it works. It workson both 360 and ps3.
