DVR-K17 Dear Experts, I have a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K17 ATA Device... :) that's how the Device Manager describes it. But I don't have the driver for it and can't find it on the web. I'm frustrated and could use some help. And I can't find this product in the product list...which is also frustrating. Can you please advise where to look for the proper driver? or any other tips? Thanks in advance! David B.

Hi, Generally CD and DVD drives dont need a driver to actually be recognised and accessed in Windows. But to be able to burn files and watch movies etc you will need appropriate software to do this. For this there are many different programs you can use. There is Nero for 1 and for watching DVD's there is a program by Sonic that is good.

Before you actually buy any you could buy a copy of PC magazine or similar that comes with a CD of samples and full programs.

Let me know how you go,
SeaJade

Windows doesn't need a third party driver for this device. Just remove the device from device manager and reboot. Windows should detect the device and automatically set it up.

I hav VGN CR24G/BNow the problem is that it show no dvd drive on MyComputer but shows yellow triangle on Device Manager pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K17 ATA device and shows error code 39 in the device status....

Try right clicking on the triangle and choose to update driver if you have the internet choose use internet this one time option, and see if it can find an updated driver.

Unplug pc from the mains and take the side panel of, check the cables are in correctly, also check the drive is set to the right jumper setting usually master.

Also check in the bios to see if you have raid capabilities, it would be worth disabling it. It is for hard drives not for removable devices.

Pioneer dvd-rw dvr-k17 problem

This sounds like you have a Virus or Some other type or Malware that has corrupted your drivers. Please Scan with Avast (http://www.avast.com/), Spybot S&D(http://www.safer-networking.org/), and Adaware (http://lavasoft.com/) all of witch have free versions.

Also it may be that your driver got corupted some othere way if it still does not work try roleing back your driver or updateing it.

Thank you,
Rel

P.s. if that does not work please come back and make sure you give the info that you have

scanned with the above and if you do not reply in this question then make sure you include all

that info with all the info you have already put here. Good Luck!
