ASUS T100 stuck at preparing automatic repair message will.not reboot

Hello there, i just owned a brand new Asus T100 for 2 days and today on the 3rd day after purchasing, i faced problems during boot/start up where the laptop gets frozen on the Asus logo screen.
I tried holding down the power button for 10 seconds and turned it on again. It ran a series of windows software updates before the start up, then after all software updates have been completed, the laptop resumed to freeze at the Asus logo screen again. I tried holding the power button for 10 secs followed by holding the power button and volume up button at the same time, to get into automatic repair/repair mode. THIS HELPS, get into the repair mode!

To cut it short, i tried the other advanced options as well as the restart button in the repair mode but to no avail. After carefully reading the different options in the 'advanced options' in repair mode...
Here's what worked for me:
1) If you're stuck at the Asus logo screen which doesn't seem to boot for ages or at least 10 minutes, hold down the power button for 10 seconds and let the screen turn black. (I did this with my charger plugged in, not too sure if it matters)
2) Count to 10 seconds. Switch the laptop on by HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON + VOLUME UP BUTTON at the same time. This will send the laptop into an 'automatic repair', followed by a 'diagnosing this PC' and after which you will see a blue screen which is the repair mode.
3) On the blue screen you will see 2 buttons, 'Restart' and 'Advanced Options'. Click on 'Advanced Options'. (DO NOT CLICK RESTART, it does nothing as you will get stuck again at the logo screen)
4) After clicking 'Advanced Options', click 'Advanced ....' (i forgot what exactly) and click 'STARTUP REPAIR'. This is the crucial part. Then follow whatever the system promts you.
5) Afterwards, it will attempt to repair your system then lead you back to the logo screen for startup.
6) Wait a few minutes and you should be able to get to your login screen as usual.

Hope this helps. I chanced upon it by guessing which would actually help me.

White screen

The white screen you are getting is it just right after turning on the computer? If yes it means that you were not able to see the Dell logo correct?

Try connecting an external monitor thru VGA. While monitor and laptop is on with white screen please do this. Hold down Fn key then press F8 at the same time. This will toggle the display from the laptop to external monitor. If laptop displays to external monitor means that laptop LCD needs to be replaced.

If you do not have an external monitor try this.
While laptop is OFF. Do this. Hold down the D key then press power button at the same time.
Check if the laptop will display colors the whole screen. If you still see white screen then LCD needs replacement.

LCD mean LCD panel or the whole screen together with LCD cable and Inverter.

Hope this helps.

My apple iphone froze on the apple logo

Connect your phone to the computer and open iTunes. Hold both the home key and the power button until the iPhone turns off. Continue to hold them both for 5 more seconds. Release the power button but continue to hold the home button for 10 - 15 more seconds. I tunes should detect the phone in DFU mode. Restore firmware from this mode.

Hp Pavillion 5000 notebook

Bad day, huh? Here area couple of quick and easy things to try that may fix your problem. Then again, they may not,but it never hurts to try!

Step1
1) Take out your laptop battery.
2) Remove your AC power cord, that's the wall power, removeit.
3) Now hold down your poser button for at least 30 seconds.

That will drain any static electricity that has builtup on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of ablack screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power andhit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up. Reinsertyour battery.

If that doesn't resolve the situation try step 2

Step 2 Bad memory Your memory (RAM) may need to be removed, andthen put back in (reseated). The videoshares the system's memory, and will not function if there is a problem.
1) Reseatmodule(s).
2) Swapmodule, preferably with known good.

Hope this helps the situation and makes your day go better!

Gateway CX2620 Swivel Screen Laptop

This is the worst solution I've ever heard. This guy is trying to steer you wrong I'm pretty sure. There is zero point in removing all the screws from under the batter/ zero point to removing the area around the power button. Absolute BS. The only part to remove is the part just above the top of the keyboard (silver strip with some black). Then by removing that you can pry the swivel black plastic cover off. Whatever you do.. do not follow Scott's writeup here. I'm telling you. It's sad it's stayed up so long.. so had to warn.

Stuck on asus logo on startup??

Same problem here with my wife's Asus laptop. Called Asus and they said to unplug charger, remove the battery in the back, hold down the power button for 10 seconds. Then, replace battery, then charger, then press the power button and wait for startup. First time it got stuck at the windows loading bar screen for like 5 min. which is abnormal. Did a hard power down (press and hold power button til it shuts off) then restarted again. That time it worked and all is well so far. Could have been due to a static charge as she was on our couch with our dog backing up movies so charge might have entered through the CD/DVD drive opening. (?) Not sure, but if you are sitting on a static-prone couch with your laptop its probably best to sit on top of a bounce sheet.
