Singer 30920 I just bought this old machine and it was supposed to work, but I can't seem to get it figured out. It has one of those black plastic bobbin cases with a drop in bobbin, and I wondering if it takes a special bobbin, because when the top thread wraps around, the bobbin it catches the top lip of the bobbin and wraps around it, instead of sliding over the top. Any help would be great, I'm stumped.

Bobbins are specific to machines.........if you are trying to use a non-singer bobbin, the diametre and depth may well be several millimetres different and will result in what you describe.

Ask for plastic singer bobbins for a top loader......if you contact Singer or an agent, they will give you a part number and will probably ship to you as well.........get a few and have all your colours ready, not all layered on just a couple !

My bobbin in my Singer sewing machine 4522 case will not click back in. It is a Singer model 4522. It had been stored and unused for a while. I oiled it up and bought new Singer clear plastic bobbins.

Did you get Class 66 bobbins? See https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/singer-4522-sewing-machine-parts.aspx?index=19 . Singer sewing machines use a variety of different bobbins.

I hope this helps.

(I have an older Singer Touch N' Sew. Those bobbins are easy to spot. Newer machines can use Class 15, Class 15J or Class 66 bobbins, https://www.singer.com/sewing-resources/complete-bobbin-guide . Some machines can only use either the plastic or metal bobbins of a particular size. Others can use either metal or plastic bobbins.)

How old What is the year of singer model 30920

Am unable to locate any information or photos of this particular machine.

If it is a mechanical machine, it could probably use a couple drops of fresh, good quality sewing machine oil every place that metal rubs metal. Avoid oiling any belts, cams, or plastic parts A hot handheld hairdryer directed at the metal parts may help loosen any stickiness.

Standard accessory pkg was not included with the sewing machine Mode4423 SN ZHC1417514317

If your machine is under warranty, Singer will have to send you the cord. If it is not, you can purchase it from an eBay seller; use "Singer 4423 Power" as a search term. Here's a link to one for $17.99 including shipping. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CORD-Lead-Power-Singer-14U554-14U555-14U557-2623-30215-30218-30518-30920-4423-/281238319280?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item417b1c30b0

The bobbin case on my Singer Inspiration 4210 sewing machine keeps popping up in the back causing my thread to bunch up underneath. What is causing this? Is the bobbin case in wrong? How is it supposed...

From what I gather on other sites, your thread has to be threaded under tension.... You have to make sure you hear a click when your bringing your thread down to the bottom of the "arm". Also, I thought the bobbin case was rather loosely held in its place, I adjusted this by unscrewing the black plate and moving it over just a smidge. The bobbin is supposed to have some wiggle room, but it kept popping up and making the tiny adjustment seems to have done the trick....for now...

Installing the hook and bobbin assembly.

The plastic bobbin case should sit on top of the raceway, it should slot in quite easily, once the bobbin case is in put the small metal clip at the top over to hold it in place.

I have singer sewing machine. The black casing the bobbin fits in is supposed to move when sewing, I know, but this seems to move excessively and does not fit in tight enough so that when sewing, it slips...

The black bobbin case that the bobbin sites in is not supposed to move at all, on the right hand side of the bobbin case you will see two screws, if you slacken them off you can push the guide bar closer to the bobbin case leaving enough thread to pass through the gap.
