I have an compaq presariov2000 laptop. the problem is battery not charging and the charging symbol is also in a hide and seek mood. I also try scan for hardware changes method but it won't work. plz help.

go to compaq's website, download the latest Bios Update, run the bios update while the power suply is connected on the laptop. after the update, the power adapter should be recognized by the laptop

You can grab the downloads for the drivers off the Compaq website,
the site can be found at;

However if you have a Compaq Presario v2000 with an Radeon XPRESS (ATI) graphics card
you need to get the drivers from here http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.HTML

Sound driver presariov2000

This system uses a UAA system to deliver audio

and hence you will need the intel UAA audio update for win XP

Mouse pad problem..

dependant on operating system, in XP go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager, go down list to mice and pointing devices, click the '+' sign, then right click on your touchpad, select uninstal.

Restart notebook and it will install it again and work ok.
