Janome 9000 seems to be jammed.

I got a used Janome 9000. Got it home, turned it on, and the needle seems to be jammed. The handwheel won't turn and when I try to press the pedal it sounds like it's trying to move, but can't. I haven't been able to get it to work at all. Any thoughts on what I might try before taking it in?

Thanks. It was the upper shaft - it needed to be replaced. For almost as much as the machine was worth. Ugh.

I had the same problem with my 9000. After my third visit to the repair shop they finally told me to always check my thread uptake lever. I have had no problems since.

Janome platinum 720 jammed wheel

Force it hard in the direction of travel using the handwheel. You can't break it. The remove needle and thread and run at full speed for 10 seconds.

My Janome New Home is grinding

I don't know your experience with this machine so bear in mind.

Your "grinding" could be the machines internal slip clutch, but just guessing. Likely you can't make needle move up/down with handwheel or make a full or multiple turns of handweel ?

If yes, then check the bobbin area (hook and race) is not fouled with thread and/or fabric.

If bobbin area is clear, then try changing the stitch selector to see if its jammed as well.

What type of sewing were you doing when this occured?

Comment here and I'll assist further if need be.

My janome 9000 sewing machine has stopped working 3 times when I sewed over heavy material. What s wrong with machine.

Did you take it for service? If so, the technician should be able to tell you what was wrong and what probably caused it.

If you didn't take it for service, how were you able to get it to sew again? Could be the fabric was too heavy for the needle and caused the needle to bend. It could be knocking your machine out of time. Be sure to use a heavy needle like a #16 or #18 (and for most fabrics try a "sharp" like microtex, top stitch, leather needle) and sew slowly with heavy fabric. Perhaps the fabric is too heavy for your sewing machine. I sew heavy fabric like vinyl, canvas, etc but I use an old metal mechanical machine that I can help along by turning the handwheel when the going gets tough.

My janome 11000 memorycraft's needle threader has jammed in the down position and cannot be moved

Thanks to floraq803, we have our 11000 working again. The needle threader was stuck in the down position. We turned off the machine, and turned the wheel (which controls where the needle is) until the needle threader bar was straight (approximately 1/2 way between the needle being all the way down and all the way up). Turned on the machine and the threader came back up again. Now back to sewing.

I was embroidering on my janome 9000 it jammed and went dead and won't come back on!

Be sure that it's still plugged in and not on a plug in that is controlled by a switch that got accidentally turned off.

Other than that it is likely that a fuse got blown or the power supply died. In that case take it in for repair.

The icons are out of sync.

Have a sewing machine needle handy and turn the machine off.

With your left hand, press and hold /StartStop, Up/Down and reverse while switching on the machine. The screen should display little cross hairs. Using the BLUNT end of the needle NOT THE TIP, press the exact center of the cross hairs. Continue a the cross hairs will change positions on the screen. When finished, switch machine off, wait five seconds and switch back on.

Janome 9000 willl not work when turned on

My Janome 9000 has always done that. I can prevent it by raising the needle when I first start the machine, getting it to sew quickly or raising the needle and letting the machine sit for a few minutes. I think my computer wants to warm up a minute. As you can see I.m not a technical person but it works for me.
