Klh powered subwoofer model ASW10-120B... when you plug in to power... it makes a loud buzzing/humming noise

I would check the caps on the power supply. They are rather large electrolytic capacitors that will look like they burst and/or leaking. When these die, the caps ground and the sub will make a loud buzzing sound. If you are handy with a soldering iron you can replace them yourself. Replace them with the same voltage or a little bigger and same with the size.

If the cap. says 16v 4700pF on it, for example, a 20v 5300pF or a 16v 6200mF cap. will work for this application.

Sony sa-wm500 subwoofer is crackling

If the sound is a scratchy type of sound then the voice coil has been damaged and is rubbing up against the internal magnet producing the scratching and low sound since the cone is barely moving;.

How to install KLH asw10-20 to a 7.2 receiver

Yes, the 10-120 can use a L & R low level subwoofer input. You can get a short 6" RCA splitter adapter from Radio Shack for a under $10. (1 female input, 2 male outputs) Alternately, just plug the subwoofer output on your receiver to just the low level R channel on the KLH sub.

KLH HPS 1100 powered subwoofer. as soon as plugged into AC we get a loud hum from spkr. had unit for 8yrs.

Hum usually indicates a power supply problem. If it has an internal supply you will need someone to check it's producing clean DC. Alternatively if you do open it (beware risk of shock!!) initially visually check condition of /replace any bulging electrolytic capacitors.

Subwoofer is hummig what is this noise

Hum is a constant low-frequency buzz, usually at about 60 Hz or 120 Hz, which results from voltage differences between true "ground" (what you'd get shoving a copper pipe into the ground) and the electrical "ground" of your receiver's chassis When this voltage differential exists, it's called a "ground loop," and the hum it produces is darned annoying. You'll hear the hum mainly from the subwoofer because it's a low-frequency noise, you will need a ground loop insulator they are about $20 at any electronic store

KLH ASW8-100b Sub woofer. I need to know how to hook it up to my surround sound

Some specific model numbers might lead us to specific manuals and specific instructions.

Depends on your source and its amplifer complement. Some can drive a subwoofer directly while others just produce a Line Level subwoofer output for use by a separate amp feeding a subwoofer or self-amplified sub.

The set-up of the source to produce a subwoofer output is totally dependent on its design. Generally, you have to 1) tell it you have a sub, 2) define how bass will be routed or shared among your various speakers accordingto their bass-handling capacities, 3) using test tones, set the relative ludness and crossover settings so you have a uniform sound field.

To find a manual, maybe run it by the manufacturer

My KLH subwoofer (model ASW8-120B) has stopped working and emits only a low-pitched hum.. I have tried hooking it up using the ''high-level'' 2-wire inputs as well as the ''low level'' RCA plug inputs....

It's unlikely that you can find a shop to repair it for less than the replacement cost ($75ish for a comparable KLH or Sony sub)

If you're up for doing your own soldering, here's a solution for the same problem with the same amp.

If this helps, please hit the "thumbs up" for me!

Loud hHum from Subwoofer

Sounds like the hum might be mains hum caused by the failure of the power supply capacitor(s) in the sub. It/they will be the largest on the pc board. You will find all the details (needed to replace it) on them. If you find more than one replace both.
