It sounds like there is a problem with the device firmware..update the device firmware and that should solve the problem you are having...
format the device using windows media player and let me know what happen...to format it open your windows media player and click under sync...assuming you are running windows media player 11...you should see the device on the right side..just right click and hit format...DO NOT RESET YOUR DEVICE..WHENEVER YOU RESET IT ITS LIKE YOU NEVER DID A FIRMWARE UPGRADE..YOU ENDED UP HAVING THE MANUFACTURE FIRMWARE...format it and then do the firnware upgrade...let me know what happen...
thats because the device firmware is corrupted..I am not sure if you are able to format it using the player itself..check to see under menu->setting-> to see if there is a format option under the device itself...if not get the firmware upgrade and then format your device..let me know what happen..
ok...let me know the outcome...
