Xbox 360 games are in black and white-recently connected and played a friend's xbox 360 on the tv and it worked fine in color. then I connected my old xbox and only saw black and white. got a xbox 360 for christmas and games are in black and white.

I had a similar problem when I first connected my son's xbox using the Audio/Video cable (red, white, & yellow connectors). I connected the cable to the TV correctly, but incorrectly selected "component" as the input on the TV setup. Result was black and white display. Switch your TV input mode to "AV" or "Audio/Video" and you will get color.

FYI, "component" TV mode is only used with devices that use the red, green, & blue connectors.

There is a switch that changes the video cable from SD( for use with older TV's without high definition connectivity) to HD (used for newer HD TV's with high definition.

If your older television is using a composite (yellow) connection for video, make sure the switch is in the SD position and NOT hd.

I have an xbox 360 and it will play the disk but no sound i tryed every thing to the AV cables to buying a console eye cleaner disk and it still dont play sound im thimking its my sound card but im not...

What kind of cables are you using? What are the colors of the cables?
Have you tried your friends AV cables?
How many more discs experiences this?

Xbox 360 plays movies fine but colour is wrong on games

i will suggest if you new tv has more inputs, just try a different imput, and make sure the plugs are in all the way. this is a new tv so it will be tight.

same with the video connection on the back of xbox well plugged and straigt.

If you can still HEAR sound, but can't see. Check your Audio Video Cable.

It's the colorful one (red, white, yellow) (red, blue green, white, red)

Make sure the connections are secure into the back of the TV as well as the connection to the back of the Xbox 360.
