Check in BIOS and see whether its recognised there..If its not, it could be the Motherboard which is the culprit here...if system is Out of Warranty, and its charging, then forget the recognising issue...other Contact Dell's Out Of warranty for repair options.Would suggest using Dell spares for the system than going with other 3rd party supported adaptors

Sounds like you need a new power adapter.

If you check the bottom of the laptop it will say For use with PA-12 or PA-10....sometimes PA-13. Check ebay for a NEW ORIGINAL charger, stay away from the knock-offs.

I can't get the computer to recognize the charger. It flashes between battery and charger unless the charger is being pushed in. I have tried numerous chargers with the same result.

With the charger unplugger, look inside the plug end that you plug into the pc. On occaision, the center pin may be damaged or pushed into the plug itself. That small pin is what provides the laptop the power (wattage) info. Also if you know anyone else with Dell charger PA-10 or PA-12, try theirs. Good luck!

Inspiron 1501 charging problem

should find out why the original charger stopped working in the first place... was it a faulty mother board really. anyway if the ratings on the charger you bought are for that laptop indeed, then it should power up the laptop minus the battery. ofcourse if you put in charger minus battery, dont expect it to show the charging led..just try to power it on

I just bought a replacement 9 cell battery and a 90 watt power adapter for my Dell E1505. With the new battery and power adapter my battery indicator light keeps flashing green and the battery doesn't...

If a new DELL ac adapter (3rd party Adapters are not recognized and the charging circuit is disabled) and a new battery doesn't resolve then the charging circuit on the motherboard is bad

    Latitude Charger wrong

Firstly, you should try to use correct sentence structure.

Secondly, as long as it's a pa-10 or pa-12 for the d600 you should be fine. the chargers are not specific to each laptop, rather they are more specific to the dell product family(the type of power connectors on each).
