Looking for a cheap D/A converter to connect my new digital receiver to an old intercom system. Do you have anything like that, or know where I can get one? Thanks

  • ayed1 Dec 27, 2009

My pioneer receiver has the RCA outputs I need but they deliver only matching formats e.g. if the input from my cd or satellite is digital it outputs digital to the tape out, if it's analog the same jack outputs analog. I ended up buying a D/A converter for $100. It will convert coax or Opt digital to RCA analog
    Thanks for you help tho

Are you sure you need one? Few modern digital receivers lack an analog output or two. What kind of input does your intercom need? RCA stereo? Run a pair of RCA cables from one of the Tape Out jacks to the intercom.

I had a samsung hitb system but the dvdplayer/receiver died and i dont want to waste the speakers. Is there any way i can cut off the special samsung ends and convert these speakers for use on my laptop??...

Yes you can definitely do that. However, the cost might not be worth it for you assuming you don’t already have a pre amp or a receiver laying around somewhere. What you could do, though, is cut off the ends of the Samsung speakers and connect them to speaker outputs on any old audio video receiver. Then, audio out of your laptop to the input of the receiver. I would ask around with your friends if they have an old one laying around. Also, used electronic stores will have them for cheap. Like I said earlier, it’s possible but may not be worth the cost as you could get a full speaker system for your laptop pretty cheap these days! Good luck!

How to record LP records to CD, using a 1978

All you need to do is connect two RCA plugs into the audio in of your laptop. The two RCA's go into a tape out of the recevier. If your laptop uses 3.5mm plugs for audio conections then get a 3.5mm plug to RCA plugs. See image below.
To record the music and convert it I would get Magix Audio Cleaning Lab, which you can pick up cheap on Amazon.

418f330.jpg The sound will then come out of your speakers on your computer and then you can record it with Magix and convert it with the software to any audio format.

Toshiba Color TV CF306 - Can it receive digital, with converter

The short answer is yes. The method is to set the TV to receive either channel 3 or 4. The converter will receive the digital broadcasts and "re-broadcast" them on either 3 or 4 analog for the TV to receive.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Does my tv have a digital tuner (RCA Model E13320, 2/2001)?

The digital tuner has nothing to do with the new signal you will be receiving in February of next year. The new video signal is a digital signal. The old video signal is analog. Your television receives the analog signal and converts it to what you see on television. You need a converter box to convert the new digital signal back to an analog signal your television can convert.

SNES video is jumpy on Sony LCD TV

It sounds like a scanning issue...Older TV's were setup to adjust the image to the screen. Since the new age is all digital, they kind of left out that feature because it only happened in very old analog systems.

Sorry but to my knowledge there are no converters or anything that I know of that will fix this issue. I haven't tried any of my old systems on newer lcd's so I haven't been in the market to look.

Sorry.
