HP Pavilion dv9720us running XP can not find the wireless network card. Not an option in the BIOS setup. Downloaded HP wireless assistant 3. Machine recognizes the enable switch. I'm asked to enable the device in the Widows Device Manager but I can't seem to find it!

Sir, recently I purchased HP DV4-2112 Laptop, my Network card is not working. Kindly advise me.

Hello...

I got your issue as the network card is not working in the laptop:

Its is advisable to check with a professional but before this try with the following steps

Step 1: Go to Start

Step 2:Click All Programs and choose Accessories

Step 3:Right click on Command Prompt

Step 4: Click run as administrator

Step 5:Type ipconfig/release and when that finishes type ipconfig/renew

If the HP Pavilion ZD8000, ZD7000, ZD9000 wireless card still can’t work, you better check the BIOS setting.

Commonly after install the new operating system the wireless card setting was turned off in the BIOS automatically.

Hope this would help you

With regards

I have a HP Pavilion dv9720us notebook running Vista. Since I performed a system recovery it will no longer acknowledge the CD/DVD drive. I have tried several times to redo the system recovery but still...

Try following this, XP, Vista, and Windows 7 seem to run into this problem.
It will remove the high and low filters, forceing the machine to regenrate and it somehow finds the drive again.

Sound card

I was unable to locate appropriate drivers for either of the sound systems on that model from the HP website, but you should be able to get them through the Windows Update site. Just make sure you choose the Custom button (Express only looks for critical updates) and check the drivers section to see what is available for you. I know for sure the RealTek drivers are there and I would assume that the Conexant drivers are as well, so you should be covered no matter which specific hardware configuration you have.

Internal Wireless adapter failed

Your wireless zero configuration being manipulated by the add-on service of manufacturer software. first you can manually turn in the Wireless Zero Configuration by typing services.msc on run menu. After you run the services you will see Wireless Zero configuration please enable and start it with the given option.

Next you can open the Wireless Network Connection option, uncheck the add on protocols, such as AEGIS and WLAN protocol. after restart computer should work with wireless without problem.

Please post if you need further assistance.

Good Luck
