SOURCE: For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller...

system is trying to boot to a network, this is most likely due to the hard disk drive not being detected, or the windows operating system is missing.
First reset the BIOS defaults, see if the system detects the HDD in the bios and will now boot.

Run diagnostics on the hard disk drive, which I suspect it will fail.
If diags on the drive pass, they try reinstalling Windows. But I expect you'll be replacing the drive.

This is what mine says when I turn on Intel UNDI, PXE-2 . 1 (BUILD 082) Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v1.0.0.5(01/22/09) Check cable connection..

You hard drive is missing from the system. Just does not recognize it.
Remove the hard drive and reseat (reconnect). Check BIOS by pressing an F key during boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key. Might be F2 key. Verify BIOS recognizes the drive. It must be listed! There is no going forward if it's not. Check boot order and make internal hard drive first. Save and restart.

When start up my Emachine E525 the laptop the screen is blank, then after a while if any key is pressed a bleeping sound is made the some system language appears on the screen saying: 'For Atheros...

It seemed that the laptop is booting to the network to correct this
1. Go to the BIOS Check if the hard drive is detected by the computer (Hard drives are usually shown as alpha numeric) 2. If the hard drive is detected make sure that the hard drive is the first boot device 3. Save all changes and restart the computer 4. If the hard drive is still not detected you have to take out the hard drive and put it back in (reseat the hard drive) 5. Go to the BIOS again check if the hard drive is detected if not replace the hard drive

Hope this helps

I'm running a Windows 7 netbook- acer aspire one. 32 bit Prossesor- Intel Atom BOOTING ERROR- I press power and the ACER logo pops up (normal) and then: For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller...

This message means that the computer cannot see the hard drive. Unofrtunately, this is usually caused by a failed Hard Disk drive. However, you could try removing and re-fitting the hard drive to see if this cures the problem.

Full instructions on removing and replacing the hard drive can be found here:

Every time I turn on my computer the following message appears: "For PCIE Atheros Ethernet controller v1.0.0.5 Check cable connection ..! pxe-e63: error while initializing the NIC pxe-mof:...

It sounds like the hard disk is faulty, the machine is trying to boot via the network card as it cannot find a bootable disk. You could try removing the hard drive and reseating it but the disk could be dead.

Upon startup before anything else happens (except asking me if I want to press f2 for setup) my aspire one netbook says: For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller... v1.0.0.5(1/22/09) check cable...

This means you should install an Operating System.
If your notebook doesn't have a dvd drive you can install the Operating System with an external drive (dvd, USB flash drive or hard drive). and press F12 when it starts to select the booting device.
Follow the link below to find out how to create a USB flash drive bootable (also works on hard drives):

Press F2 and enter setup as it looks like your device is set to boot from the network instead of your C drive. You can change the boot order in the setup.

When i turn the power on on start up it goes to a black screen and says intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082) copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller...

You get this kind of message when the laptop could not identify that there is a hard disk drive installed inside the laptop. Check your hard drive & make sure it is not dead.

You didn't list your PC model or make, but it appears that you have enabled the network card to boot from it's rom chip. Turn that option off in your software or pcie Bios control.
