My LG Flatron L1511S 15 in. Flat turned into Power Saving mode when I plug in serial cable!

I have LG Flatron L1511S 15 inches Flat Monitor. Whenever I plugged serial cable into the serial port of monitor, it turned into "Power Saving" Mode. Without serial cable, it showed "No signal" and timer is running. Would anyone kindly tell me what should I do with that. Thanks in advanced.

Vista - Dual Screens - One power saving mode
right click on desktop -> Personalize -> Display Settings
You should see one monitor in a fully checkerboard color.
Click on this monitor - > Check the box labeled "Extend the desktop onto this monitor"

This was wrong with mine.

If the monitor showing powersaving mode, monitor is ok. It must be your CPU complaint.

Signal out of range

lower your resolution to VGA and work your way up. Note that if you choose differnt geometry, the screen edges will hang off the ends of the monitor and you can not see then.. If you are out and can not see to change, you will have to boot up in safe mode (f8) and adjust down then reboot to normal.

good luck!

Automatically power saving mode ...........................cpu start working..........monitor power saving mode

Hook a spare monitor to the computer, if the same symptoms occur the problem is the Video Graphics Card in the computer, but if the picture is okay, it is clearly the LG Flatron that has the problem, and if possible sub the video cord from the computer to the monitor just to be sure.

I have a flatron w2253tq and have "analoge power saving "on. I cannot see the desktop

Is the monitor connected to the computer using a VGA plug (a smaller one, with 15 pins in 3 rows), or a DVI plug (wider one, with flat pins in 2 rows)?

From what you write, your monitor is switched to the analog input (VGA). It doesn't sense any signal on that input and hence goes to power down mode.

You need to go to your monitor's on-screen menu and select the digital input - you should see the picture then.

Flatron monitor

You need to check the monitor cable if it is correctly connected to the motherboard port. If the analog display or no signal it means the monitor cable should bot connected. If you have a video card in your motherboard you can plug your monitor cable to the external video card.

Power saving mode

Prevent the laptop/desktop monitor from going to power saving mode:

  • Click on Start | Control Panel | Power Options.
  • In the Power Option properties window, click on the Power Schemes Tab
  • Set the Turn off Monitor/ Turn off Hard Disks option when on Power (and also Battery for laptop users) to Never.
  • Now click on the Save as... button and assign a name to this power scheme... Let us call it 'Presentation' and then click on OK.
  • That's it congrats!

    LG LCD Monitor L1530S problems

Most screens will show nothing or go to power saving mode until the PC is turned on. The monitors need a signal in order to be 'active'.
From your description it could just as well be a problem with the PC rather than the monitor. The easiest way to find out is to connect another PC or laptop to the screen or connect another monitor to the PC unit.

Did you try pressing the Del key or F2 key when you turn on the unit to get into the Bios?

Flatron L1953S Goes to power saving mode while playing..

I had the same problem with my LG Flatron (not the same model as your one). I fixed it by connecting both the digital and analogue cables from the pc. Presumably, the problem occurs because the monitor is not receiving a digital signal.
