Power recently went out and we were on generator power. Now, off generator power, all the lights blink. It will not print out a test page. I have tried turning it off and unplugging. Anything else to try?

Why does my printer only print half of a page?

Let's start by trying this:
Unplug the printer power cord from the printer and the wall.
Turn off the PC.
Disconnect the USB cable from both ends.
Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Now, can you print a self-test page from the printer?
Make sure there is unused, plain white paper loaded in the input tray.
On the product control panel, press and hold the Power button and the Cancel (X) button at the same time.
Release both buttons. The diagnostic page prints.
If that does not work, are there any blinking lights on the printer? This document might explain them: Blinking lights.
If the self-test page does print normally, reconnect the USB cable, turn the PC back on and try to print a Windows test page:
Click the Windows icon and then click Control Panel . The Control Panel opens in a new window.
Click Hardware and Sounds .
Click Printers . The Printers folder opens.
Right-click the printer icon in the Printers folder.
Click Properties . The printer Properties window opens.
In the General tab, click Print Test Page . The Windows Printer Test Page prints.
If you have problems printing from Windows, you can try some of the troubleshooting steps in this document:
Printer Prints Blank Paper.
Finally, you may have to uninstall and reinstall the print driver.

Printing test page at startup

Hi Monica,

You should have replaced new ink cartridges recently and since from that the printer must be printing Alignment test sheet. It means that you have not completed the alignment test.

Please follow below step to complete the test

  1. Turn the printer OFF and then ON, allow the printer to print the test page.
  2. Place the test page correctly on the scanner flatbed and press the scan button.
  3. Now the printer ON light will start blinking.
  4. Wait until the power light stops flashing.
  5. Now the test is complete and test the printer again by powering off and on.

Riztech

Power Light Continues to blink.

if you are having issues after installing the new cartridges , then perform the following steps.

unplug the power adapter and remove both the cartridges and then power on the printer , look for the power light. if it does not blink then .
install the black cartridge first and then try to print , if it prints fine its ok. then remove the black cartridge and then put the color one in and then try printing or copying .

if it doesnot print with any either black/ color then you have to replace that particular caratridge..

lemme know once u r done....
