Yeah--I've seen that before and perhaps you can check it out by unplugging all USB devices and restarting the computer. If you still get that message, go into your control panel and under device manager remove all the USB devices. Restart the computer and let it find the devices again. If the problem persists, you have a motherboard issue. Might be OK, but if you can isolate the particular hub that is giving you the problem, avoid using it.

Hp nx6110 laptop error power surge on hub port

OK if you have anything plugged into the USB Ports at bootup, unless Keyboard or Mouse, remove everything, and see if it boots normally, if it does, then the "Hub" you are using may be faulty, or a device you are using is drawing a lot of current at switch on and overloading the USB bus, that can only supply 500mA. If it still does it, and you do use a USB KB & Mouse, then remove them one at a time & reboot, between, and see if it was one of them causing the problem. If you have nothing attached then your internal USB bus is flaky.

My usb keeps sayin power surge on hub ports

You may need to upgrade to a higher wattage power supply, which would also help with the performance of your computer. Or try updating either your system bios or USB drivers.

Power Surge on Hub Port

Some USB devices draw excessive power from the USB port, especially USB scanners. When this happens you need a powered USB hub, connect this to your computer's USB port and connect the USB device into the powered USB hub, you should not have any further error power surge problems.

I have Hp Compaq nx 6110 Laptop everything is ok boot system normal no any error but just laptop move any where then system stuck and only way of power off and second problem is "power surge on hub port: a...

1st prob. - I appears there is a loose connection problem somewhere - try reseating your RAN and hard disk.
Try to determine which part of the laptop is causing the problem, not moving the laptop around the room but by flexing different parts of the laptop and power cable etc. while it is on your table.

2nd prob -
Some USB devices draw more power than the USB port can provide and you get the error message - "exceeded power limit".
In these cases you will need to purchase a powered USB hub, connect this hub to the laptops USB port and connect the offending USB device into the powered USB hub.
