The heating element in Krups stainless kettle has burned out

Defective heating element is the most likely cause, but doubt you can have it repaired as they seldom make replacement parts as there is little demand to repair them..

Could be several reasons. heating element or pump is burned out or it needs cleaning with vinegar to remove hard water deposits. If you can hear the water being heated. put two cups of vinegar and the balance water in the reservoir and let it soak and then see if the brew cycle will work. We hand to run this through ours 3 or 4 times to get ours to work again.

It could be a bad switch, plug, thermostat or heating element. These items will need to be tested by a qualified electrician to determine which are faulty and causing the element not to heat up.

The heating element needs to be checked to see if it has power and if it has burned out. To do this, you need a meter that checks voltage and resistance. To test it, locate the connections to the heating element and with the machine unplugged test the heating coil with the meter set to measure resistance. It should not be infinite. IF it is then the coil is burned out.

Sounds like a faulty internal thermostat or it needs to be adjusted.

the handle has noting to do with the heater what you need to check on is the connection from the power supply if the connection is alright then you will have consider the element it is the heat provider connected to the wire it means that it is weak it need to be replace with a better one the element is in silver colour you can get it in any technical store/shop around you.

You cannot fix it when they split like that.

you can touch the element but be carefull the glass is thin .... so scrape it and do what you can . THEN USE A COTTON BALL AND ALCOHOL and clean the element that will get rid of the oil you left behind ,you will be fine ......Please if this answer helped , please rate this 3 or 4 stars . and keep me in the paid answer department . There's a thermal cutout that trips if the regular safety switch isn't enough. According to the manual, if the thermal cutout trips you have to send it back to Breville for servicing.

That may be what happened, if just letting it cool down and trying again didn't work.
