I think its not backing up properly
Step one try to restore something.
Step two...use windows explorer to see if you can read the contents (files and folders) of the back up drive (whatever that is).
Step three if that does not work download Recuva (free) from cnet downloads and run it on the drive in question....if you can read those files at least many or all can be recovered...breathe easier.
Step four (copy them to something else....just in case)
Step five.....now uninstall your back up software and reinstall it (and yes you could have done this first but I take an ultra conservative approach). Then reinstall it. If that works great.
Step six....If it does not uninstall it again including any and all folders with application software in it....in other words make it disappear completely.
Step seven...download Ccleaner from the internet (free) and run the window and application cleanup routines then run the registry
cleaner (don't worry...it's make for those who know nothing about the registry...just trust it and delete the stuff)
Step eight is to run scan disk in through mode on your primary drive.
Step nine is to try reinstalling it again.
If all this fails let me know....it may take two days to get back to you. PS....if you have your backup safely saved you can try formatting the back up drive (not the master) again.
Have fun.....Tango (that was a joke!)
