52 inch RCA big screen

tv turned black/white screen...how can I get it back to color? It happened when my granddaughter was playing with the tv remote. thanks

Your TV is overheating.. easiest remedy is to point a fan at the back of the TV or... clean the inside of the TV, Im sure its full of dust and stuff... this prevents air circulation inside the TV thus creating more heat...

is it a crt tube screen?

You are likely to have a high voltage transformer bad which is common problem for ctc 195 RCA If you look into the back of the tv it is the white square looking thing about 3 inches across by 3 inches with the large red wire coming from it and going back into the set. Must have original RCA part and must be unsoldered and solder in new one. Not to be done by the untrained. Average cost to come out and repair is $250 to $300. depending on the repairman (Note: the chassis is in a complete wooded chipcore box that will come out with quarter inch nutdriver and unplug two plugs at the top of the box The box or chassis can be taken to the repair shop leaving the screen at your home saving a service call. # 1 above you have covergence problems ,there is a service flash from rca to fix your fault,ask your tv shop. fault # 2 above turn off the color and adjust your screen settings for a grey picture,set brightness and contrast to middle settings. # 3 fault read #1 cause if your auto focus will not correct you require service there is a harness connector that looses connection and causes several fualts on the 52" rca's you can repair the fault but if you miss the harness replacement you will do it again.
