I can format, and see the files in my computer.....I can even see the properties of my Sony Walkman NWD - B105F.....I transfered the files and put it on charge.....then when i switch on the power, DATABASE CREATING message comes after that BOOT ERROR SHUTTING DOWN message.....and the device switches off by itself.

there is a rest button at the backside of the walkman.put a needel there and press it...your walkman will be turned off.now on it again it will start working as it was before

But before you begin the updating, make sure to back up your file in your Hard Drive. It is easy to select format in the updater first so that it is surely clean then it will automatically update your player. After the update, you can copy your files back again to your player. It works for me, I'm sure it will work for you. ([email protected])
I had the exact same problem with my girlfriends sony nwd-b105 mp3 player. I fixed it by downloading the firmware version 1.2, which can be found here at the sony support link below.
- Backup your mp3 files
- Make sure your mp3 device is NOT plugged in
- Run the firmware executable
- When it asks for it plug in the mp3 device
- Check option: format data area
- Press Start
- When finished, take the mp3 device out and press the power button
- If everything went well it is creating a database again and will function correctly as usual
- Copy your mp3 files back to the mp3 device
- Enjoy your music again!
