Factory installed microphone isn't working anymoe

Go to Tools...Options...Audio Settings and try choosing different choices for Microphone.

maybe sound card problem
Vista always has sound card problem. I had too because with my headset (microphone) It works through your sound card
but it works well now after I installed it as below

Make sure the microphone is not "muted" and the slider is up in the mixer panel. Usually you can right click on the speaker icon in the lower right of your window to activate the mixer panel window.

Using the Windows 7 Beta is meant to be a test version of the upcoming operating system, not a fully functional version. If your microphone cannot be heard on the other end, try downloading drivers for the microphone. If this does not work, try submitting a bug report to Windows to get a patch made to fix this issue.
Keep in mind, you are using a beta opersating system and your expectations should not be that of a stable release. Things are meant to break.

Have you tried to reset the camera to the factory defaults? To do this: have the camera in shooting mode - go to Menu - left arrow to reset - press ok - Highlight Yes and press ok. This will reset the camera to factory settings. See if flash works now.

If I remember right you have to have one of your controllers on for the mic to work since the mic doesn't have controls on it.

Normal 0 Go to Control Panel and Click on Sounds, Click on Audio, then Click on the Microphone. Then Click on the drop down and select Camera Microphone.
Click OK and it should work.
