This is a little tricky with one person but it can be done with some long fingers. You have to lower the cover down on the keypad then push: cancel, clock set, minutes, and hold down the tamper button on the back while powering up; it might take a couple tries ;).

My problem is related. It appears that my Option 08 is ON, meaning the memory clear to factory defaults will not clear my (unknown) Dealer code/Utility code 1.

There must be some way to override Option 08.

My guess there is a jumper pair on the circuit board, but I can't find any description of the jumpers.

How do I change the phone number that my GE Simon Security System calls when the alarm is triggered?

Open the front cover, enter the installer code and "add" the new phone number in "Option 4" as the Primary phone number. "Option 5" is the secondary phone number location on the Simon 3.

GE Simon - Reset Installer Code & Remove Sensors

I am sure you already guessed this but it appears someone has changed the default installer code. Using the default installer, dealer, or master codes defeat the purpose of a security system as most criminals know the default codes. The only way I know of to regain control of this panel is to reset it to factory defaults. This does mean that you will have to completely re-progam the system. I would document as much stuff as you can from the display before resetting it. If you don't have a copy of the installation manual I am providing a link below. Hope this helps.

Want to program telephone number in GE Simon 3 system

Hi,
You need to get the ''installer code'' from your alarm company in order to go into the programming of your system and do the change...and of course the programming manual, please be advised hat if you make any change to your system and something goes wrong your alarm company could charge you in order to fix the problem. Legally, IF you bought the system, you are entitled to get the installer code, the alarm company can't even think to argue about that!.

Thanks,

GE Simon reset

In order to do this, you must have the "installer code". This is not to be confused with your master code which you use to disarm your system. Once you have this code, enter it when prompted, press delete, press sensors, when proper sensor is announced press done to accept, system announces that sensor "x" has been deleted. There is a default "installer code" (1234 or 4321) but many suppliers such as ADT change it to prevent owner tampering.

GE Simon 3 Add or Change a Sensor to my system?

You need to use an installer code to add/remove sensors. Depending on what number of digits your alarm code is set for will determine the number for the intaller code. Look in the installer manual for the code. Then follow these steps:

Open the panel.
Key in installer coe
Select Add
Select Sensor/Remote
Activate the sensor you want to add. Some sensors have a button, some have to opened to activate.
Choose sensor name and group. Groups are listed in the manual. Basically, if you want the sensor to arm when the doors arm (such as for a window sensor or door sensor) put it in group 10 or 13. If it's a smoke sensor, group 26; motion detector, group 17 and keyfob, group 01.
Press done when finished and run the test to make sure the system is reading the sensor.
