Satellite radio (REF) not connecting with Sirius.

Yep, new radio. The old Sirius radios won't go above 184 (most won't even get above 145) and the old XM radios won't go past 256, so to get the "Xtra" channels you want a new XM radio like the Onyx PLUS, or The XM Edge - both will give you not only all the regular channels, but an eXtra 20 channels or so that you can only get online or on a new 2.0 radio. Is there audio on 184? It sounds like it just needs to be activated. Call Sirius with the SID #, and they can send a signal. Sirius' # is 888-539-7474

I have the exact same issue on my 08 Ram 1500. It even shows the same channel 184. Of course, it's warranty just expired at 39000 miles. I took it to the dealer anyway, and to quote the service tech "it points to the satellite module". Key word is points. A new module (the receiver) is $313 plus the $79 labor fee. WhenI asked if the new module did not fix the problem, if I would get a refund on the $313, he just kind of looked at me and eventually said no. I am looking for other solutions....

Turn on satellite radio, call Sirius tech support to have them resend activation signal. Stay on line with them since it may take them 2 - 3 tries.

I bought a used 2008 Ram 1500 SLT Sport; satellite would stay stuck on channel 184 with no sound, etc.

Solution: Disconnect negative wire from vehicle battery; wait 1-hour then reconnect. This clears satellite radio cache (a.k.a. hard reset).

Turn on satellite radion; Call Sirius support to send activation signal. Wait on phone with tech support; may take them 2 - 3 tries to get signal to take on radio.

Hit eject button and clock button at same time. Ur Id number will show up. It will only show 4 numbers at a time. Hit seek button 2 more times to get the rest of the numbers

That is the Sirius free 'test' channel. Do you have and pay for Sirius satellite radio service? If not you might try the AM/FM button to return to the band you were used to listening to. If you do pay for the service check to make sure your bill is current and try turning the stereo on and off a couple times. Pause for a moment while the stereo is off before turning back on.

Goto sirius.com. You will need to access you account and find out if your radio is upgradeable for XM channels. You can find that out once you try to add xm to your account.

If it isn't you can get a free or a discounted radio from them to do it by calling customer service up. They do that for existing customers.

I have the same problem. When Sirius sent me a new "update" signal, I lost more channels. They don't have any idea. Did you figure out how to reset?
