  • No Power
    1. Make sure that the words "Nintendo GameCube" are molded into the AC adapter. Unlicensed products are not fully compatible and may not work correctly.
    2. Make sure the Nintendo GameCube has good ventilation. For best results, make sure that the system rests on an open, flat surface. Avoid operating the Nintendo GameCube while it's on carpeting or inside an enclosed space.
    3. Check the vents on the sides of the Nintendo GameCube for a build-up of dust. The system will shut down if it cannot vent properly to prevent overheating. If there is a build-up, remove it using a vaccum cleaner with a soft brush attachment.
    4. Avoid the use of unlicensed products such as memory cards, controllers, and cheat devices. Some of these products are poorly manufactured and may result in damage to your system. If one of these products is attached to your system, remove it and try resetting the AC adaptor (see below).
    5. Make sure that your wall outlet works. To check it, try plugging a lamp into the same outlet where your system was plugged in. Turn the lamp on the verify the outlet works. Also, make sure you are not using an outlet that is operated from a wall switch. If you do, make sure the wall switch is in the ON position.
    6. Make sure the AC adapter is attached properly. Firmly plug your AC adapter into the back of the Nintendo GameCube (the port is labeled DC 12V IN) and into a working wall outlet.
    7. Press the power button on the Nintendo GameCube and check to see that the red power light on the top of the Nintendo GameCube illuminates.

If this fails, try resetting the AC adapter.

      1. Unplug/remove all accessories from the system (including game discs, memory cards, and all controllers), hookup cables, and the AC adapter from the outlet and Nintendo GameCube.
      2. Let the system rest for about 45 seconds. While you're waiting, check to see that the cords on the controllers, AC adaptor, and Stereo AV cables/Component Video cables (or RF Switch) are not frayed or have exposed wires (this can cause the system to shut off); if so, you should replace those parts.
      3. After the 45 seconds, Plug the AC Adapter into the system and wall outlet. Press the power button to see if the system works.

        • If the system works, turn the power off and plug ONE accessory into your system, then turn the system on to see if it still works. Repeat this process with ONE accessory at a time. If your system doesn't work once you put a particular accessory in (GameDisc, controller, Memory Card), there may be something defective with that accessory.
        • If the power does not come on, a repair will be necessary. Because it is not possible to determine which item (Control Deck or A/C Adapter) needs repair, please call our Consumer Service Department at 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.

    8. If the power is continually shutting off after aprox. 30 minutes, listen to hear if the fan is working while the system is powered on. If the fan is not running, the problem will continue (Nintendo GameCube is avoiding overheating) and the system will need repair.

  • Power Light Flashes
If the power light flashes once when power button is pressed, then turns off and won't turn back on, the system needs repair.
  • Power Light Shuts Off
If the power shuts off during game play (even as much as 30 minutes after the system is turned on), then turns off and won't turn back on or the fan isn't working, the system needs repair.

How do you check if the power if available to the fan when high speed is selected?

just unplug the fan motor and connect a tester with a light bulb to it turn the fan control on and watch for the light to get brighter as the speed goes up, if it does replace the fan motor . if not check fuses and power to the switch itself.good luck

After working just two days ago. The console will not power on. It has not been moved. We have unpluged everything,no luck.

Hello

Start simple. If there's no power to your Wii, check that the AC adaptor is firmly connected both to the game console and a live electrical outlet. If you still have no power, or the power LED light goes off in midgame or flickers, try rebooting the system. Turn everything off, unplug the AC adaptor from the electrical outlet, wait at least 60 seconds and then plug in again and turn the system on.

If this does not help you may need a new power supply. Also try cleaning the wii.Use a can of ampressed air to blow out any dirt or dust from unit.Pay attention to fan area.Be sure fan spins free.

Console turns off after about 15 minutes of play and red light flashes.

Your console is overheating, 1st get some canned air and blow it into the console, next make sure that the console is not in a confined spot it needs allot of air flow, next you can buy some external USB powered fans to help it keep cool.

The evaporator fan is not blowing

The evaporator fan should be running. A light frost is what you want to see. Just no heavy frost, that would indicate a defrost problem. Check the fan for power if it has power and it is not running replace it.

Three red lights and no power

Did you let it heat up untill you get the 2 red rings. If not unplug your fan; turn it on and wait untill you get lights 1 and 3 flashing. turn it off and wait a couple of min. then plug your fan in and add the wind tunnel. then turn it back on. If it still doesn't work you did the X-clamp fix wrong.

Powering off mid game

i have same problem. i have looked online and it seems that the unit is over heating. Turn off the unit from back then hold the eject button while turning it back on from back and the fan should kick in and spin really fast and loud this will blow out any dust in it. if that does not work this is just a crazy but take a fan and put it on high and aim it at the vents to see if that keeps it cool.

Playstation 3 60GB

I suggest a new cooling fan in the unit..
Its easy to replace and costs 15$...
I suggest also getting an intercooler deal from walmart before your power supply goes or the mother board blows..
Hope this helps!
