I have a Hotpoint Aquarius SDW 60 The delay 3hr &12hr lights are flashing at the same time. Machine won't start. If the door is slamed shut. It get stuck on the Fast & Prewash 40 degree cycle. and stays there.
I had the same problem with my Hotpoint Aquarius the eco and fast light flashing, it would go through the pre wash cycle and stop.
I cleaned the filters etc; and it still didn’t work.
I turned the machine off and unplugged it at the mains,
I drained all the water, turned the machine on the side and took the bottom off, I removed the drain pump off the bottom (this was held on with a single screw after taking the screw out slightly turn it to one side as its like a bayonet fit on a light bulb also remove the wire connection and a rubber drain pipe)
Once the pump was removed I could clearly see the impellor it was very tight and I couldn’t spin it after a closer examination I could see a foreign object jamming it I removed this with a pair of tweezers, replaced the pump and put it all back together and it now works perfectly.
I hope this can be of some help.
Peter.
I had a hotpoint engineer try to fix this type of problem. He insisted that there was something stuck in the bottom of the pump.
Sure enough there was. 1. Unplug your dishwaser at the wall. 2. Remove the grill under the bottom rack. 3. Ensure that the filter is free from food and other obstacles and clean the filter. 4. Before replacing filter etc, get a piece of metal coat hanger wire and care fully insert it down the channel under the filter to free any lodged items. You may also see a small white impleller try to turn this with your finger or the coat hanger wire (this is the info from the engineer!). 5. replace filter and retry a wash.
This routine fixed or machine twice and will hopefully fix yours!
Here are the eco related error codes for your washer.. 1)Light 3 (eco) flashes. Water is present in the flood catching tray at
the bottom which usually indicates that there is a leak somewhere. More
often than not this is just a pipe with a poor fitting and simply
tightening the clip is enough to stop the leak. Our machine had a very
slow leak from one pipe (not enough to trigger the alarm) which was
fixed in this way. The leak is detected by a small float switch located
in the flood catch tray.
Undo 4 screws on the metal plate under the dishwasher 3 at the front 1
at the back, this reveals The pump check the seals are in place on the
waste pump.
2)
Wash indicator lights 3 + 5 (eco + pre) flashing rapidly. Filter is clogged. Pull out the filter and clean it. 3)Runs for approx. 3 minutes and then stops. Lights 3 + 4 (eco and fast)
flash. Probably caused by being plumbed into a hot rather than cold
water supply. The incoming water is hotter than required for the wash
which causes the machine to cut out. Plumbing the machine into a cold
water supply will fix the problem with no apparent long term problems.
I too had this problen today. Printed off a manual from the Hotpoint website. Very helpful troubleshoot section. Anyway, flashing eco and fast lights and beeping sound indicates 'water feed pipe blocked' You need to check the water inlet connections on your tap. However, when we pulled it out we noticed the blue water inlet pipe was slightly kinked. Straightened this out and hey presto! It works fine again. How this happens when its worked ok for 18 months will never know but still. Try it! hope this was helpful...shewoo
