System Date Problem in EEE PC 1005HA

Dear Support Team,
My EEE PC 1005HA NETBOOK is displaying system date year as Current Date/Month and 2002. For example: today it is showing as 21-December-2002.

I tried every method to change the system date by changing it through control panel and BIOS setting, but every time upon Starting and Restarting the Netbook, it shows the year as 2002.

Kindly reply so I can resolve this issue. Your reply is in waiting.

Best Regards,

As if you have tried changing the date & time in your control panel plus BIOS.There is nothing left to be done regarding changing date & time.
But If your CMOS battery in the motherboard fails,it will always goes back to it deafult date & time.Replace the battery and it will solve your problem.

I recommend to use Sony Lithium Battery

1005ha bios update usb

Upgrading BIOS is dangerous and can cause fatal damage to your PC. If you are aware of that and decide to take this risk, then continute. 1. Visit http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us, search 1001HA and choose DOS as operating system. Download latest bios rom file.
2. Save and extract the downloaded file. You will get a rom file named like "1301.rom" 3. Format a usb pen drive to FAT-16 partition. In my case I used a 32 MB SD card which came with my old Kodak camera, and I used a SD card reader that PC can see it as a usb disk. Copy 1301.rom to its root folder and rename it to 1005HA.ROM. The reason for renaming it to 1005HA.ROM is that EZ Flash on this 1001HA netbook looks up rom with this name. If EZ flash failed saying trying to find a rom file with another name, just shutdown the netbook and rename your rom file to the required name and try again. 4. Plug in the usb pen drive and reboot the netbook. Make sure that during the ASUS splash screen, press ALT+F2. Then EZ Flash will run automatically and try to locate the usb drive and read from file 1005HA.ROM (in my case). 5. It takes around one minute for me to upgrade everything. DO NOT TURN OFF OR EVEN TOUCH YOUR NETBOOK DURING UPGRADE. Read the messages on the screen and when it says you can press the shutdown button, you can turn off your system. 6. Turn on your netbook again and enter BIOS to check if the BIOS version is up to date.

What is the problem If the time and date will not hold

This means that your BIOS battery is flat/worn out and this is why it changes the date and time each time you boot up.
Replace the BIOS battery with a new one then boot up and go into the BIOS and set the correct Date and Time.

ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BK Netbook how do fix black screen issue? It has an upper left corner blinking dash_

Hello.

Either you have an operating system problem or memory issue.

First, boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly when powering on). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, all your updates will roll back to that date. Follow the process.

If still a problem, disconnect all cables. Be certain to dispel static electricity by touching metal. Remove the battery and memory cover. Try reseating (removing and reinserting) your memory (try one module at a time to test).

If still a problem, the last choices are Factory Restore and reinstall. Accessing Factory Restore (restores to the factory settings and will wipe out anything that you have installed or saved on your PC), is dependent on your hardware manufacturer. Boot your system and press F10, F11, Alt+F10, or Ctrl+F11 to access Factory Restore. Follow the prompts.

If still not resolved, you'll probably need to reinstall your operating system.

Hope this helps.

Asus EEE. On switch on always goes into Bios (as though I had preseed F2) How can I make it start normally?

Please set date and time bios correctly then press F10 to save. After saving the computer start normally every startup. But you should check your com battery is good condition other ways the system not run correctly. To replace com battery if in case is dead.

When i turn on the comp the boot up screen works but then it is blue and i cant do anything tryed it in safe mode and its fine still when turn on normal after boot screen all there is is blue

Try safe boot, but this time, select System Restore and pick a date before the problem started. You probably have a driver conflict (a system update or software installation is incompatible with the rest of the system).

Each time I start my eeepc 1005HA, time/date has gone. This sounds like a CMOS battery dead. I expect you give me what I must buy and how I can replace the battery. Thanks a lot.

you should change your cmos battery. the model is ML 1220. don't buy the CR 1220 because it is not rechargeable. I hope this helps. I also have the same problem with my asus eee pc 1005HA.

Dear Asus Support Team, On Shutting Down EEE PC 1005HA Serial Number: NETBOOK, it is taking 3 to 4 hours to switch off. The message appears as Windows is shutting down....I have not installed any...

Some of the windows files may have corrupt and the background services are not able to close in time.

Reinstalling the opearting system will solve your problem but still you want to continue using the operating system as it is, then for immediate shutdown, there is a free software called "Super Fast Shutdown".Below is the link.
