Volume problem I had volume on my tv and then i walked away and then my daughter said that it stopped could you give me some ideas to solve problem I experienced occassional volume drops that would disappear once the channel is changed. However, a few days ago the volume went away and hasn't returned. If anyone has any idea how to resolve this issue I'd like to know. I've tried resetting the television by unplugging the set and resetting the volume settings but still silence.

turned the tv on this morning and no sound, changed the cable box, removed the cable box entirely, changed the connecting tables, turned the tv off for a few minutes, looked at the book and did the "unlocking volume control" advice--still no sound. TV worked fine before I turned it off last night. TV is less than one year old.

it says to replace the control box for no sound.
thats the main board to you.
I would use external speakers as they sound better anyway.

Bose Cinemate Sr1 volume keeps auto turning off when not in use

Hi, All. First, thank you for suggestions posted. Next, I have unplugged both the subwoofer and the center channel speaker, left them unplugged for a minute or two, then re-plugged them in. However this did not correct the problem for me. When I pause the television for five or 10 minutes for example, the Bose volume automatically shuts off. This is a major inconvenience. I suppose if nobody can address this issue with the remedy here, I shall have to call Bose and see if they can assist. Any other ideas or suggestions? Meanwhile thank you very much.

TV Volume goes up by itself and remote wont work

Hi,

There are 2 reasons that this is happening in respect to the problem commencing after your daughter has cleaned the tv. Either your daughter has sprayed the volume button with cleaner and fluid has got into the the graphite pad under the button and conducting as though the button is being pressed continuously..or she has put too much pressure on the button if it is a metallic plate contact switch. One way to find out is by pressing the down volume button.does it it click ? if it does.try the up volume..If that doesnt click the problem is the metallic plate is dented in making contact hence a new switch. Another cause ive seen is cleaning the remote control with cleaner and fluid has got into the remote and it sends signals to the tv all the time..If the remote control is hidden under a cushion and the problem stops, then the remote control is at fault and needs drying out..Hope this helps :)

Internet want start

Hi mtaylor9,

Routers are great but they do have issues with distance, or certain walls that can interupt the connections. My suggestion is to have your daughter when she is connected to walk away from the router step by step, and continue this until it drops. This will give you the distance it will work for you. Then either move the router closer to her destination, or you can get another router than can act as a passthrough. The last option is to run ethernet wire everywhere which really defeats the purpose of wireless.

Good Luck

Sound

WOW never heard this one . You might check the volume down button on the tv to see if it is depressed in . What is the model # and do you clean the picture tube with windex ? Maybe some of it has seeped down onto the control board and has gummed up the volume down button. Good luck

Volume problem

Similar prob with our tv. Our tv volume is all the way up, and our verizon fios set box volume is all the way up too. Can hear it as if you were watching tv in bed and didn't want to disturb the other person sleeping.

We bought the warranty (told to by several friends) so will let you know after the repairman fixes it in a few days.

Volume and mute buttons suddenly stopped working

Try changing the batteries. Most times the "tivo" buttons will work but the "tv" buttons will stop working when the batteries are low.

If you have done that, go back into settings and program the remote again for your tv, then give it a shot.
