I have a 2006 Hitachi Ultravision 42 inch plasma

I have a 2006 Hitachi Ultravision 42 inch plasma TV. It's was working fine but now I can only get it to power up to stand by mode. It won't turn on when you press the power button on the side of the TV which is when the picuture would come on. BTW, the TV came with the house I just bought and we have not been able to fine the remote yet so if any of the answers require using the remote I don't have one just yet.

Thanks,
Mike

Plasma tv units use a lot of power ,well into the hundreds of watts 9 some big screens use up to 800 watts to work)
I suggest that you consider a new led unit which uses barely any power and you will get a remote with it

not sure your model number is correct please check here is a manual for the 42 CL plasma TV http://www.hitachiserviceeu.com/scripts/userguide.php/CL42PD2100_EN.pdf if it is a different set please check the model number, this should have a 42 in it (as it is 42")

My thought is that it is an Intergrated Circuit (IC). But it has been brought to my attention that it may be as simple as adding a "ground adapter" to the plug of the TV. If after you try changing out the ground adapter and it doesn't work, try "power cycling" your TV. (unpluging it... Waiting 30 seconds, then plug it back in.) If that fails, contact Hitachi so they can recommend an authorized service center in your area. Hope this helps. Good luck, KMarshall!

Hitachi ultravision is hot, to the touch, Is there concern?

I've owned a 42HDX99 since 2007, It's always been warm/hot. Still works/looks Awesome. Plasmas do generally run hotter than
LCD/LED's. Also have a 58" Samsung Plasma ( which I've had to repair ) and a 2009 Toshiba 1080P LCD ( still works great )

I have a 42 inch Hitachi plasma tv that is making a very loud static noice coming from the internal speakers. It stays at a contstant very loud volume unless I completly mute the tv or turn the volum

Based on what you have tried if a buzz or loud static via the speakers you have something wrong in the audio output circuit of the set--problem here is that circuit may be part of the Main board that processes all signal---a look inside---following the speaker leads back would lead you to that board.

A simple thing to do to narrow it a little (you may have done this) is with sound all the way off put your ear to the internal speaker--hear anything at all like a deep hum?

Depending on age of set and cost of the board likely bad it may or may not be a do it yourself repair.

Hitachi 42" ultravision...power light on, hear

Tries pushes the power switch on the remote few times, each times push wait like a 1 mins or 2 mins for the tv Tuner signal board to take it effect. This process should get ur tv picture back, because the tv Tuner signal board it is old and having problems, evenually require replacement of a refurbish tv Tuner signal board.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.
