My IP 5000 Cannon printer says I have a paper jam but

Canon printer error 5100 has shown due to paper jam, improperly seated ink tank and more. Follow the simple steps to fix canon printer error 5100:

It sounds like the exit sensor is sticking, so the printer doesn't know the paper has exited & throws a jam.

check if there is any paper (small bits) stuck in the printer which could be blocking the sensor or the rollers

also check if the paper is not damp?

realign printer heads using the software if it offers the function?

Take out all the cartridges then you are able to remove the jammed paper.

hi, your paper feeder might be jammed, try seeing if your little wheels turn properly (where the paper is fed) let me know..

In my IP 3000 during a print suddenly on the 3rd page, a big "crunch" sound. Paper was jammed - error 5100 or smthg, and managed to remove the paper... but then error 6A00 came up. I found this post and was saved. Manually moved the print head left and right, turned the printer on/off. Still the same error. Then I noticed a piece of torn paper lodged inside. Removed that, got inky fingers, and finally got printer in working condition.
Try to clean any foreign object inside.May be it can help you.

PLEASE REMOVE THE POWER CABLE AND REINSERT IT IT SHOUL BE OK AND IF STILL PERSIST JUST RESTART THE PC IF STILL RESIST PLEASE LET SOME TECHNICIAN TO CHECK FOR THE SENSOR FOR THE PAPER JAM ...

why dont u contact cannon abt r problem i can not think of anyhing but hte cannon printers is faulty.........

canon i960 -three flashing orange lights (paper jam error) but no paper is jammed. The print cartridge will not slide to center either-- I have tried to get the printer into service mode, but cannot get there because the orange lights never stop flashing.

This printer cannot use cheap paper. Make sure you use 20lb #92 paper. I had the same problem till I changed paper. Hope this helps
