My Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000 doesn't respond well when in use. It sort of stutters. Any idea?
Replace the batteries. If this doesn't work, resync the mouse and the wireless adapter that is plugged into the computer.
Usually you can do this by holding down the button on the wireless adapter first and then the button on the mouse. This will also change the frequency in case something is interfering.
Have you tried to install the wireless device into another USB port? Also make sure that you have the most up to date motherboard drivers.
If you are using the front USB ports on your computer, they may not support USB 2.0 which might cuase delay with USB wireless devices.
Drivers for XP can be found here:

All other drivers (Vista, Windows 7, and all 64bit versions) can be found here by choosing your hardware and operating system:

I would suggest reinstalling the driver, using a different USB port and doing a full resync. If this does not fix the issue and all your other USB devices are working correctly, then the laser on the mouse might be bad. I just had to replace my Microsoft Wireless Optical 2.0 because the laser stopped working correctly.
Hey Mies77,
Please let me know if this does not work and I will try and look for more infomation on that paticular model.

Hi Wolvrine99, thanks for your time and reply but unfortunatly not the solution for me. I replaced the batteries and resynced but the problem is still there. It feels kind of like the software / driver of the mouse can't keep up with the movement of the mouse. The pointer freezes. and then reappears on the the far end of the screen. Any ideas? Rest of the system works fine and system resources are plenty.
