I feel it would be cheaper to replace the fan cord than to the dog.
As this is a DIY site, I would recommend that you repair the cord. Cut both the ends of the cord such that you have about a foot of the cord left with the wall plug and the fan socket. Procure a few meters of a double or triple cord depending what you have in your fan presently. Peel off the insulation on all eight or twelve ends of the wires and join them one by one to the wall plug and the fan socket to both the ends of the newly acquired cord. And insulate each joint with insulation tape individually and then collectively. So you have two joints on the cable if you look at it casually. What you need to procure is:
1. A cord double or triple core depending on the original one in the fan now.
2. A small roll of insulation roll.
3. A dog leash.

My dog ate the cord to the fan I need to know how to replace the old with a new one

Hi mlh9188

You can replace your cord that was eaten by your dog very easy.
Disassemble your fan.
Be sure to mark how the fan is assembled with an awl or sharp instrument to scratch an alignment scratch on the outside of the motor case before you disassemble it....maybe even take a picture
Once you have the fan disassembled to the point that you can get to where the wire that was chewed is connected to the fan, you will disconnect the wires from the plugs,sockets,etc...take another picture before disassembly.
Take the old cord with you down to your local hardware store, loews, homedepot, ace hardware, etc.
Tell the person in the electrical dept what happened, and he will fix you up with a new set up.
Come home install the new cord and plug...keep away from dog...

Dog chewed power cord. how do I repair

assuming this is a window air cond? It is not safe to use electrical tape, duct tape or any other kind of tape on a power cord to cover bare wiring. Many times I have cut the cord short enough to cut out the place where chewed and gone to a hardware store where I can get a new cord end that matches the wall plug and wire it in to the shorter cord. If this is not possible, you will need to either make a new cord or try to find a cord at an appliance supply house.

Dog chewed the gray water mist cord, can i replace the cord?

mcdevito75 here, Best bet, Look for any appliance repair center in your area for replacement electrical line. If your handy yourself or know a handy person, simply match up the electrical cord with another at your local hardware store, Splice the new cord into the old one.

Dog chewed the electric plug

Your local appliance shop should be able to hook you up with a replacement cord. Slicing another cord onto the existing cord would nullify the UL listing for the appliance, void your homeowners policy, and would probably put you in line for a Darwin Award. In addition, beating a poor dumb animal with a power cord like the other guy suggested is just plain cruel.

Dog chewed cord on bissell model 6579-2 how do I replace it?

You can cut the bad section of wire out of the cord, cut the insulation on the cord to get to the wires. Match your colors, strip the insulation from the individual wires and twist together. Wrap each wire with electrical tape (making sure no wire is exposed, can be a fire hazard), then wrap the cord with electrical tape. The cord will be a little shorter, but should work fine.

My dog chewed through the power cord (luckily unplugged). Are there replacement parts available and I can't seem to find out to detach the cord from the unit.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. There are replacement parts available for the replacement of the power cord and to check your owner’s manual to see the schematics of the replacement of the cord. You can check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or you can call cust serv @ Bissell @ the phone # listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
