Problem connecting DVD/VCR to DISH

Hello, I can not seem to get my Magnavox ZV427MG9 DVD/VCR Combo connected to my Dish Network HDTV VIP211 Satelite Receiver. I have tried the AV (Composite) from Sat Receiver to DVD/VCR to HDTV by AV (Composite), the S-video from Sat Receiver to DVD/VCR to HDTV by S-video, The S-video from Sat Receover to DVD/VCR to HDTV by HDMI. Nothing seems to work, I get the setup screen for the DVD/VCR combo but no television station signals at all. Can you help me please.

Dish dvr can only output so you have to connect your dish dvr to your dvd/vcr and then connect your dvd/vcr to your tv and im sure it should work

I have a Magnavox ZV427MG9 DVD Recorder VCR Combo. Do I need a separate tuner? If so what kind? Thanks

Hello
Ofcourse you need an external tuner to receive any RF signals. Your Magnavox is not equipped with internal tuner with it. OK.

Would like to have or view vip211 receiver manual to utilize all possible connections.

Hello, Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network here. If you no longer have the manual for the ViP211, it can be found at http://www.tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/TechPortal/content/tech/receiver/211.shtml.

All other receiver manuals can also be found here. Hope this helps.
