Make sure wireless network adapter driver is installed in computer.
You can check it in device manager if you use windows.
Right click on my computer then click on property then hardware->device manager.
You you can see all driver list.
Select network adapter and check wireless driver is installed and enable.
Then go to my network places property then righ click on wifi icon then click on view available networks. If you are on laptop then turn wi fi switch of laptop. Then if you are unable to see your wifi router ssid then you need to check router settings.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet lan cable. Then you can access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1
for belkin router
http://192.168.15.1
or
http://192.168.2.1
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Then click on wireless and enable it then change channel type to 4,6 or 11 then save settings and restart router .Then try.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

I don't why edup wireless nano adaptor 802.11n is not recognised by my windows 8.1

Try to boot up then insert it.

You may also need to manually remove all network adapters (or all wireless adapters first then try again).

I think you can click start, type wireless, and go to wireless network management to see all network adapters (thera rea few ways to get there)

Wireless adapter not found! Please insert the adapter now.

It wireless adapter could be faulty or the PCI slot in the computer is faulty.
Insert the D-Link into another PCI slot and also try installing the drivers again, the driver may be corrupted.
Try installing the D-Link in another computer, if it doesn't work then it is faulty and you need a replacement wireless adapter.

I have my wireless adapter connected and it shows my required network in the list, but I am not able to connect to it

I had trouble with linksys router and modem, it saw connection but would not connect. I found that my network adapter (drivers) were not installed. Make sure you check that the drivers are installed. If it looks like it, then uninstall then re-install again.

Hope it helps.
