Laptop compaq armarda notebook can not get connected to internet

I have a compaq armada E500 series and i am unable to conect to the internet with the wireless card even with a ordinary modem attached it wont go onto the internet.
I have had it connected once then suddenly it said web page unavailble can not find server m since then i have not been able to go onto the internet with it my other laptop is fine and so is the larger pc its just this one laptop that wont connect.

How do i upgrade internet explorer i know this sound very silly buti am no computer expert

the laptop in question is a windows office 2000 everytime we try to connect it says server cannot be found the wireless card itself says its connected to thei nternet but the laptop say not and says working off line.

CAN I USE INTERNET THRU WIFI WITH COMPAQ ARMADA E500 ?

Hello,

it seems like your laptop not have inbuilt wi-fi connection, so you can not use the wi-fi but if you buy a USB wireless adapter or wi-fi pcmcia card so you can use the wi-fi in your laptop.

How can i connect a wireless internet connection with a compaq armada E500

Get a PCMCIA to USB2 adapter that has an external 5 Volt connection to it to supply the higher current for the wireless adapter. The power can come from the USB via USB adapter cable
After installing the adapter, the USB wireless device should be installed just like in any later notebook. The wireless device requires USB2 and high power. and won't work off a powered hub.

How to fit memory to laptop compaq armada e500

most hp/compaq laptops will have memory slots located under the keyboard, and sometimes an additional memory slot accessed through a panel on the bottom of the notebook.
In your case, you have 2 memory slots located under the keyboard. Officially, this unit only supports up to 256 mb memory modules for a maximum of 512 MB of memory so if you already have that, be aware that larger capacity memory modules may not work.

Compaq armarda E500 and webcam

It will need a driver to work, but the machine shouldn't turn off or shut down. It should give a "found new hardware" prompt. It sounds like either the cam is exceeding the power output of the port, or the port is malfunctioning and needs repair.

Network card

Any type of PCMCIA network card should work okay.
Go down to Staples, Best Buy or Office Depot and find
a decent PCMCIA network card. You should be able to find
one for under $50
