My dvd player keeps saying fanchk and then tuns its self off

All I can say is that it is time for a new player, they don't make parts for them, at least that you can buy to do a self repair.

If you notice at the back of the BD Player there is a small fan. Sometimes dust accumulates on the blades and bearings and makes it difficult for the fan to start. Disconnected the mains power cable and remove the top cover for the BD player. Now take an old tooth brush and clean the fan blades, with out placing the top cover try powering up the BD player. See if the fan works , if not have it replaced.

Sounds like you have a fan problem. Get it serviced by the manufacturer.

The amplifier probably has a fan that has stopped working. To prevent damage from overheating, it shuts down.

Sounds like your soft switch, in the set, has failed you will need to have this replaced.

FANCHK sounds like a message saying the internal fan is not running. Open the unit and have a look to see if there is a fan and if it runs when the unit is on. You can also try to turn the fan and see if it will turn easily or if it is seized up.

I have the same problem. I installed this unit and used it for a total of one day before it complely failed. When you tun it on, the display says hello, nothing is shown on the TV, and it turns itself off within 30 seconds. Solution, I am returning this JVC unit and never purchasing another JVC product again. Complete failure after one days use, pitiful!

i tried changing drives and then i put in a different dvd.
