Hello. My 3 year old 42in LG LCD TV went out last week. I was watching a DVD and all of a sdden the screen went blank. I could change the channels up and down and the light at the bottom of the screen would register it....but nothing would happen to the screen. it would just stay blank. Now I turn it on and it works for about 10 mins, then goes blank again.Do you have any idea what could be causing this??
You will either have a fault with the inverter board which drives the backlights or a faulty backlight in the screen. If the problem is a backlight then a replacement screen is the only cure. One or the other is breaking down after it has been opn for a certain period of time, have an engineer call out & check with a tester if it is a screen problem.
