Look. First things first. You will need a SATA cable, and another Segate 2.5" HDD drive to merry together. You also need to learn how to read FLASH from the ps3. One you are able to read FLASH, get the decryption keys. Use those decryption keys to decrypt the ps3 HDD so you are able to access it's files. Finally, if that works, make the algorithm with a PS3 .bin file that utilizes those keys and update your ps3 to the "next" firmware. Done. Thats the simplicity view of it.

Hi, Thanks for the details. I have used K8V-MX Asus motherboard and found it very reliable with quite reasonable performance. It definately supports 500 GB Sata drive and there must not be any issues after increasing just the storage. However, Operating System upgrade may result in sluggish performance. Drivers dont seem to be an issue to me either. I suggest to review a few points detailed as under: - - K8V-MX Asus Supports RAID, so, check for any RAID Drivers/ settings. (You dont have to use RAID for two Hard Drives of different make, capacity and speed). Try using one disk at a time having same Operating System (e.g. Windows XP) and compare the performance. - Infact SATA Drives have better data transfer rate than IDE, which results in enhanced performance. - Some Programs (that you may not be using with 80GB drive) Like antivirus may result in decreased performance. - Please Review you Operating System environment and software installed. Make sure that the new drive & Operating System are free of any virus, which results in CPU Utilization upto 100%. - Also, motherboard supports Max 2GB RAM, so you may consider adding more RAM.

I faced the same problem i asked to the ibm people they said that non ibm hdd's are not supporting x3400 servers and they are hanging when we work with non ibm hdds. when I use segate 1 TB sata hard disk the server working fine the only problem is little bit slow for booting and programme running, this not a broblem. so pls use 1 TB sata hdds with your x3400 servers.
DVRs, not sure at the moment about the one you have, are limited with the brands and size hard drives it is able to accommodate. I'll advise you to check the manual you have with the DVR to see the brands and sizes that it can accommodate.
If it is corrupted repair the operating system or reinstall it.
