That is an indication of either a Video or an LCD failure. If under warranty, contact Dell Tech Support.
If out of warranty, remove all drives, battery, wireless card memory and see if error indications change. If they do, add a ram module back and see if the system posts. If it does, add items back one at a time until you ID the faulty one.
If there no changes, the the motherboard most likely has failed.
You can run the troubleshooter to see if the tool gives you more detailed information

Hi All,
I read with interest your messages above. I had the same problem today and luckily was able to resolve it by removing the memory modules and reinstalling them. My process included some steps that may not have made a difference but what the heck, I will include them here.
1. removed battery
2. tried to start machine on power supply alone (no joy)
3. removed back cover and removed memory modules
4. reinstalled one at a time and actually reversed the ports just for kicks.
5. System started with first module
6. Then I shutdown the machine and added the second module and it worked as well.
thank goodness and good luck to you all

I put the memory card from my camera into my computer and that seemed to fix the problem. I then ran a thorough virus scan and update. Have not had any more problems as of yet!

Possible memory issue. Try Reseating your memory card on the system, it would be helpful.
