Same problem, thats what I am online for. I got this from my mom, she bought it and never used it. So I filled it, put the hose on, and cant figure out how to refill the silly thing.

I'm so annoyed- I just unpacked it and while trying to attach the hose, apparently i screwed it in "backwards", and now it won't come off even when I unscrew it; it screwed in very easily! im afraid im gonna break it too forced- any recs??

Still can't get the hose off. Going to buy a different brand and check it out thoroughly first.

Have you checked the float?
Sometimes that gets stuck, or collects mineral and stays in the last position.

What kind of water does this steamer use-spring, distilled or tap?

it is best for your device to use distilled or at least once boiled water. if you do so you will avoid filling with calcium and the life of your machine will be longer.

Conair steamer leaks water and wets my clothes.

When I use mine I hang the hand held part from my closet door, while I am waiting for it to heat up. When the hose gets too much condensation, from the steam, it leaks out... This will also happen if you try to use in the motion of an iron. The hand held part needs to be at a vertical position at all time to prevent leaking.

Re Conair garment steamer ctx12c

I bought this model from Costco and followed the instructions and tried using the picture on the box. You may have trouble, or at least be confused, if you try to attach like the picture on the package because the hose in the box is not exactly as pictured.  The hose you get does not have that extra ribbed part around the end that attaches to the console.  Therefore try the other end and you should be able to attach.  Once you figure that out make sure you "lock" the hose into place.  If not steam will escape from the loose installation and may scald you if you reach down.

Click on Appliances category. The video instructions are for GS4 model but it must be similar.
