How long have you unplugged it for most TV's have a battery back up which you will have to wait for it to power down after unplugging could take up to 24 hours they do this to keep settings in case of a power cut
you must read your instruction manual in section troubleshooting for to what is this problem. Otherwise you must go to Polaroid to get support help online with Chat.

Sounds like the disc player went bad. Polaroid has been having trouble with these players for some time. Call polaroid and check to see if this is a warranty issue. I have fixed these for polaroid before and the service call was comped. Easy change out, only takes about 15 minutes. Hope this helps. J
It is the inverter for the LCD I have the same problem the inverter pt# is UI8007S-1 and they sell on EBAY for 58.00 but I found a web page that will give instructions and a plave in Canada that the person that posted says it should cost about 20.00 I removed the inverter and it has a burnt chip just like the article said. Good Luck!
I started to experience this problem as well. Eventually one day I turned my screen on and all the colors were crazy. Purple, Blue Yellow Green. I thought my TV was broken but then I noticed as well that the menu was not displaying the same issue. After messing with the menu for about 30 minutes I found the solution.
Go to SETTINGS. Then go down to DEFAULT. Select default and everything will be fixed.... for now. I think unplugging the TV over and over screwed up the settings. Hope this helps.
Well, as you can see by the plethoria of problems posted about Polaroid televisions you are not alone.
Yopu have been caught by a relatively new product problem called ``Paid Rebranding``,where a manufacturer will purchase the rights to brand their product with a relatively well know name, giving it instant recognition. Polaroid, or any other manufacturer makes a TON of money...for doing absolutely nothing. Actually, a few years ago, polaroid went out of business, so whoever purchased the rights to resell the name, made a ton of money. Unfortunatly, the company that sold their name knows nothing about the product...because they didnt make it, and the original manufacturer has absolutely no repair channels put into place for after sales service. If 100,000 units were originally made, 100,000 parts were purchased to make the units...and NO MORE. Now with 90% of parts crammed into 1 specialty chip...if that 1 chip goes...its all gone...and without replacement parts...no one can fix it.
