Hitachi 53" rear projection is losing its picture.

If you are not experiencing any shift in colors, it sounds like the power supply is failing since this will affect all three colors.

Hitachi ultrascan HD pic looks like a 3D movie w/o the glasses

Take a look a the video below to determine if you have a true convergence problem or if you can make the adjustment through the menu feature on your TVs original remote.

HITACHI ULTRASCAN 53FDX01B TV- do I need analog to digital conversion box ?

you do not have a digital tuner if that is what you mean. if you have a cable box you do not need to worry about this stuff but if you want to pick up over the air signals sometime next year you will need some type of hd to sd converter

Hitachi ultrascan hd 42 in

The problem you are facing is a common problem in all rear projection TVs. It's called convergence. If you go into your menu there is an adjustment for it. if it doesn't move back into alignment then you have a more serious problem in the convergence circuit which will require replacement of components.

Ultrascan hitachi 43" hd tv

Marcus,
What you're describing is convergence and the amps need to be replaced... IK04 and Ik05 are two STK392-110 and Hitachi suggests replacing them with the STK392-150's for greater reliability..
If you're not too capable in electronics this is one to leave for the professionals. But at least you can call around and ask what each shop charges for replacing the convergence amps in this unit...
Hope this helps.
