When i plug the phonejack style bass controller in all the bass quits and as soon as i unplug it the bass come back instantly. also, next to the spot where you plug the bass controller to the amp there is a pin size hole so i stuck a nail in the hole and it is some type of switch. what would that be for? this switch did not fix the bass controller. mtx thunder 801d

I am guessing the bass control is just a potentiometer that you plug in. It could be open and that is why the bass dies. As far as the switch goes, I am not familiar with the amp but it sounds like a crossover between low frequency and subsonic frequency.

Ez go electric golf cart

Need to check to see if the cart has a "resistor" style speed control. Older models will possible have this. It could be a bad resistor. Remember the old slot car controllers. Look closely at the pedal assembly. If it has a plug, disconnect it and see if the resistance between pins varies with pedal position and if you hit a dead spot.

Be careful to unplug batteries. 36V- 48V battery packs have a lot of power.

What duz level adjustment do

Hello,

The level control controls the input level coming from your head unit (receiver) to the amp.

Your Sony users manual is a little vague on how to best adjust the level and other controls.

Here is one method that some installers use and works well with most amps.

Most 10" subs sound best between about 80-100hz and below, so start out by setting the LPF at about 80hz. The HPF will not be used. Next turn the bass boost and gain all the way down. Turn on the radio and set all tone controls, bass, midrange, treble to flat, usually "0" on most head units. Turn the volume up to approximately 3/4 volume level or just until you begin to hear distortion. Now, back the volume down until the distortion is gone. Next turn up the gain control on the amp until you hear the subs start to distort then back the gain down until the distortion disappears. Next turn the bass boost up again until the subs begin to distort, then either back the bass boost down or back the gain down until the distortion is gone. You may need to play around with the bass boost and gain controls to get exactly the sound you prefer.

Hope this helps.

I need a remote control bass knob and cable for a Legacy LA590 2

Most of the remote bass control knobs & connectors are the same, regardless of manufacturer. Granted there are different styles & connectors used, but just find one that's compatible with the amplifier you have. You don't state what amp you have (at least I don't see it in desc.) Send me some info & I'll get back to you tonight. Bruce McGowan [email protected]
