Need a fix tp get Perfection 1200 working with Windows 7. Brilliant scanner. Do not wish to replace it for no other reason than no driver!
Thanks a lot for any assistance available.
I posted this for another user but i'll post it here too,
I remember looking for hours for a driver
for my Epson 1200 scanner back when I upgraded by dad to Vista 64 Bit,
eventually I found one. Just today I upgraded him to Windows 7 64 bit
and remembered I couldn't get it to work, luckily I was able to dig up
the driver I used for Vista 64. Worked great in Windows 7.
I
can't remember where I found it so I can't credit the person who made
the driver unfortunately, however i've uploaded it to Rapidshare for
you to download. Here is the link:
http://rapidshare.com/files/324940248/epsonScan_1.0_Per1200Win64eu.zip.html
Just open up the zip file and run the setup. :)
Hope this helps, Merry Christmas!
Wow, I didn't expect so many downloads for my link.
I've uploaded the file again as requested, this time it shouldn't expire:

All the best.
See the link for a working vistax64 or Win 7 x64 driver for EPSON 1200Uhttp://www.vistax64.com/drivers/176731-e...
Thank you SO MUCH! If you had not shared this driver, I'd be somewhere crying right now. You saved my life!
Hi there,
Is there any way you can upload the file again? I just tried and I can't seem to find it.
Thanks so much!

Windows 7 drivers for the Epson Perfection 1200U may be found at the following:

Have tested with own 1200U on Windows 7 64-bit. Works properly. It is based on the drivers for the Epson 2400. Minor changes to the .inf file allow it to work. Note that the Start button on the scanner also works. The software is somewhat different than the original. Another option is to buy software that enables the scanner.
It's been awhile since I installed the drivers for the Epson 1200U. If I remember correctly, I downloaded the driver, unzipped it, clicked on the setup.exe file, and allowed the software to complete. I then connected the scanner. I don't recall if Windows installed the hardware or if the scanner was ready at this point. However, there should be a shortcut in the Start menu and/or on the desktop which will allow you to test the scanner.
Thank you so much. Yours was the only solution that worked for me. I really didn't want to buy a new scanner.

Hi
We are a service center for Epson, they do not make drivers for Windows 7.
If Windows 7 does not have a generic driver that will work, you are out of luck.
thanks
You can find solution in vincenzomazzotta.blogspot.com or traslated by google traslate service in english inhttp://translate.google.it/translate?hl=...

A huge THANK YOU to the person who did the work that Epson
should be doing.
Without the scanner turned on, I downloaded the file, unziped it
and extracted the files. I then ran the .exe
After that I turned on the scanner and let Win 7 install the device.
Simple as pie.

Unfortunately the Box.net download doesn't seem to work any longer. Has anyone another link to a driver for Windows 64bit please?

EpsonScan_1.0_Per1200Win64eu can be download from: http://www.box.net/shared/5rxsn87mqr.
I did it today (18 Oct 2011) and I now have my Epson 1200U Photo scanning paper and film/negatives on a new Dell laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Every facility is there. If it's generic, it certainly recognises and names my scanner in the GUI. I had despaired of every getting it to work.
Hi,
I know this scanner is getting very old in the tooth, but it seems a shame to dump something that is working just fine physically.
Would anyone please be able to offer some help getting an Epson 1200s (the SCSI version) working with Windows 7 64bit?
I think the problem might be with the SCSI interface card as it is not supported by Windows 7. From looking at the hardware ID it seems to be an Adaptec AIC-7850 PCI SCSI Controller. I guess there is no use installing TWAIN drivers until the SCSI card is first set-up correctly.
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
Anthony.
Friends now you can upgrade to win 10 for free if your system is win 7 or win 8. If guys who have neither win 7 nor win 8 you can also upgrade to win 10 by visiting: http://www.instructables.com/id/Step-by-Step-Upgrade-Process-From-Windows-7-to-Win/. There you can get genuine win 10 product key to activate windows 10 in a cheap price.
Activate windows click here: www.acyberkey.com
you can find the keys you want in a low price that you have never imagined.
Adaptec 7870 based SCSI cards (f.e. Adaptec 2940U/UW but not Adaptec 2940U2/U2W - they're based on different chip) could be plugged to Win7 x64.
Scanner is detected but, then, no drivers. Epson 1200S 64bit drivers (at least for Epson Processor SCSI device). I'd be glad if someone solved this somehow.
