How do I clean the printer head on ly HP J5780 all in one

Hello thanks for using Fixya
In
HP Officejet J5780 All-In-One InkJet Printer cleaning the cartridge is not difficult, but it is important to use the appropriate technique. The things you need is "Cotton swabs" & "Distilled water"
Now follow this procedure
  • Open the front door of the printer, located below the scanner lid, by swinging it down. The print cartridges will move to a position where they can be accessed
  • Unplug the printer to prevent the cartridge dock from moving away from the center of the printer. Press an ink cartridge down until you feel a "click" then pull it out of the dock.
  • Dip a cotton swab in distilled water and use it to clean any built-up ink from the metal contacts on the ink cartridge and from the area around the ink nozzle. Avoid touching the nozzle itself, which is located in the center of the bottom of the cartridge. Discard the cotton swab if it becomes dirty, and use another to continue cleaning. Keep cleaning until the ink cartridge is no longer dirty, then set the ink cartridge aside.
  • Remove the second ink cartridge and repeat the cleaning process. Set both cartridges aside until they are completely dry
  • Replace an ink cartridge by holding it slightly below the dock, then pushing it up and in until it snaps into place. Do the same with the second cartridge. The black cartridge is inserted into the right slot on the dock, while the color cartridge is inserted into the left slot.
  • Close the front door of the printer, plug the printer back in, and turn it on.

I hope this solution will helpful 4 u

PRINTER MAKES A LOUD SOUND LIKE A MACHINE GUN WHEN IT PRINTS

Turn off the Printer
open the Front access Door, Check if there is bits of paper or dirt on the ROD that moves the Cartrige/carriage.
Move the Carriage freely 5-6 times from left to right ( it should move smoothly )
Remove the Cartridges, Clean the contacts on the Cartridge ( golden Contacts)
Open the Rear Access door, Clean the Rollers with lint free cloth.
Close the Rear access door and front door
Power on the Printer. If the grinding noise continues, Unplug the power cable from back of printer ( while printer is on ) and while holding the # and 6 button, connect it back.
It should go thru alignment process and the grinding noise should be gone. If it doesnt, probably.. its time for new printer of HP again.

I have a hp printer officejet J5780 All imn one.

I have found this model has a bad buildup of black ink in the right carriage bay chamber. With the printer on, open the carriage access lid and pull the power cord before the cartridge carriage can move all the way to the right side. Then gently push back the cartridge holder on the right if it's in your view, so you can see if there is a collection of black ink. The tri-color cartridge has a preventive bracket that doesn't seem to build as much as the black one. Anyway, once you've cleared any dripped ink cones or globs, plug the printer back in, turn it on, and if you get the Carriage Jam error one more time, press OK, and it should work well if that was the block on the carriage movement. I hope this helps you to get printing again.

Problem getting J5780 to recognize that cartrige door is shut

Is this a BRAND NEW printer? Just setting it up, just took out of the box?

If so double-check that you have removed all the packing/shipping tape pieces, plasic guards, retaining pieces .. that is what is sounds like
