Correct threading for 4 th. Juki ind. overlocker

Overlockers and or Sergers are ALWAYS threaded the same way. Upper looper, Lower looper, right needle, left needle. If you have a model number for your Juki we might be able to find you more information.

The best way to figure out tension problems is to thread each thread in a different color so you can determine which thread is giving you problems.

These machines can be frustrating and EVERY time the thread breaks you MUST start the threading problem from the beginning... upper looper, lower looper, right needle left needle.

Please help me thread my lower looper! I am totally confused and it is driving me crazy

Most of sergers thread the same way, go to www.singerco.com, - under customer support, or www.brother-usa.com, (support, home sewing &embroidery, pick the 1034d model) these are free or there are videos on youtube.com. I have 5 different sergers, 3 Singers (14sh654, 14u64a, 14j334), 1 Brother (model 1034d), and 1 Babylock Protege. They all pretty much do the same thing. I have learned that you must thread in the order that your manual tells you for the thread to loop right, all of mine, the 3rd spool from the left is the 1st one to thread. Remember, that you have to go behind the looper, using your long tweezers, and hold the thread end slip it behind until it goes into the notch, then bring you thread along the path on the looper and thread through eye. Have patience, I thought I was going to lose my mind also, until I actually took off the throat plate and saw that notch in that looper, then I knew what to look for. Also, make sure that you pull your thread like they show for the tension discs, very important. Some manuals are better than others, but one of those will click with you. I hope that I have helped you because you will love serging once you have it threaded right.

How to thread euro pro serger. threads aren'y interlocking

If the thread guide in printed on the side of the door or on the machine, you will need to follow the threading sequence.

    Turn off the power.

Raise the thread antenna to it's highest position.

Open the tensions (set at zero). If the serger has automatic tensions, raise the presser foot as this also opens the tensions.

Turn the handwheel so the loopers are at their highest position.

Begin threading from the right to the left - lower looper is usually the first to be threaded.

After threading, set the tensions back to the normal setting and stitch a chain of thread and it should be knitted/interlocking.

    Threading a serger

Always thread the lower looper first. Then the upper looper. Finish by threading the needles.
By the way, the lower looper is the one which is always below the needle plate and the upper one is the one which travels above the needle plate.

    Brother serger thread

The lower looper thread MUST be threaded before the needles are threaded. You must also be sure the lower looper thread is pushed and staying all the way to the left before it is threaded through the looper eye. Double check the threading diagram and count the number of guides the thread passes through. Count how many guides you have actually passed it through. It must be the same. The dealer you bought it from should be willing to show you if you can't figure it out.

    Euro pro serger model 101-548

3 thread overlocking (serging) is no different t 4 thread, except you remove one or other of the needle threads.

The stitch width is then controlled by two variables,

the manual width dial selector, and
your choice of either the right or left needle

Suggest yo play with width selector on a scrap of your project fabric to achieve the look you are after.
